It's not the exact same and there are some minor tweaks. For example, strongholds will always spawn once per map but on the PC, they spawn much further from spawn. There is also a more frequent rate for villages to spawn.
Beyond that, I don't think there's any difference.
Oh there is quite a few differences... for one XP is not in it, not that it is any use right now anyway. Also a few things have been pulled forward, like how fast you mine that was in a later update was brought forward to this one. Creative mode was not in until sometime after the official release, so that is another pulled forward.
The animal spawning is quite different. On the pc version they had plenty troubles, but all they have to do is go out further to find the animals. In theirs they spawn at a very low rate. On ours they right now spawn at a better decent rate to at least keep a flow of animals, granted it is not like 1.7.3, but still decent enough.
Like the person above mentioned, the Generated structures are different in mainly location. Strongholds there is only 1 per world no matter how small or big it is. Villages populate the world more. Mineshafts are actually not exactly like the pc release since they brought foward the plank floor over ravine gaps, if not in general over drops/air, so that they don't look totally off.
We have a tutorial world. The other thing is on the pc version they did not have snow for a while, and this is where they didn't so they got the pine forests and we actually got the taiga as it is suppose to be, with snow.
Did I mention the host options? They had sever type commands and we got now a short customizable anti-grief and few other options.
There are a lot of other differences, just right now I believe that is the primary ones.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Mostly.
It will never be "the PC version reproduced exactly on the xbox".
It is, however, "the xbox's version of the PC one"…. for a while…. then they'll be even more different.
No sense worrying about xbox-to-PC version comparison.
I think I'm reading the question a little differently than some. If you are just asking about the general lay of the surface land, I think the XBox utilizes the center 864-block area of the PC 1.8.1 map seeds. I think, however, that you will notice more villages spaced closer together than on the PC seeds and, as others have mentioned, I think the programmed was tweaked to ensure that 1 stronghold appeared on every map (since there would have been a chance of not getting any strongholds on the smaller map if this adjustment had not been made). (Proviso, I don't have the PC version myself, so I've not been able to confirm that that this is how it works, but I believe it is the case based on what others have posted elsewhere on the forums.)
