Not sure if someone else mentioned this, but I asked about it yesterday on the Bugs List topic and still haven't got a response. I'm just looking for a quick reply.
Question: Are Endermen glitchy for anyone else? Like they shuffle around and won't attack more than half the time you stare directly at them.
I have the latest update which was a bug fix, so I thought they would of fixed this.
Endermen in general are indeed buggy. Their animations are all studdery when they walk while idle, they don't have the correct health value(Supposed to have 20 hearts, yet they can be killed in 2-3 iron sword hits), and their teleportation sounds don't work most of the time.
I do sort of recall a topic right after the 1.8.2 update came out about the Enderman and them not attacking when you look them in the eyes. Not sure if it was decided a glitch or it just hadn't been brought forward to that point yet. I know the search engine is not the greatest on this site but that topic is out here somewhere unless it got removed.
You gotta look at the face, the eyes for some reason do not work. Hopefully this will be fixed in 1.23
And just because no one replied to your bug in the bug report thread DOES NOT give you the right to post it in the regular thread.

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.

I understand you have to look them in the face and I do that, yet they still don't attack more than half the time. Also they kind of slowly skip around, instead of walking smoothly. I don't mean to break the rules, I'm just looking for a quick response to get this sorted.

Just ignore him. He will yell at you no matter what you do. And, to answer your question to me, I haven't had an Enderman attack me by looking at them yet but I haven't really purposely tried to look them directly in the face.

My Endermans are usually pretty good, it's the zombies that make me crack up. Sometimes some of the zombies will have no head, I think it may be a rendering issue with my version of Minecraft but even if I get really close and wait to see if it appears still nothing happens. Funny though.

No, I am simply telling the OP that he did something against the rules and that he may get in trouble for it. I did nothing wrong. So you have no right to do that.

Rather interesting, screenies next time?

I have no right to do what? And you simply did not tell the OP anything. You seriously talked down to him like you are the boss. Here is your quote:
"And just because no one replied to your bug in the bug report thread DOES NOT give you the right to post it in the regular thread"
I don't see where you simply told the OP that he did something against the rules and that he may get in trouble for that. Please explain to me the "DOES NOT" in cap locks and "gives you the right to post in a the regular thread" is simply telling him anything. That to me is talking down to someone and I am sure THAT is against the rules too.

May I say something without being flamed? If you are not sure if something is against the rules, read the sticky that clearly states the rules of this section. What I said which was clearly intended within my post is that (EX: If you file a sue, but no answer is provided within a week, this does not give you the right to kid nap that person and lock him/her in your basement.)

Yeah, they are pretty glitchy. Sometimes I hit them yet nothing happens. I can't really blame 4J though, with all the rendering done in the xbox version of this game, its not that that easy to be specific with the eyes.
The area you need to look at to make them aggressive is actually around their torso area, not their head. It's like this on the PC version too, so I'd assume it's not much of a bug. Or it's just something that was ignored.

I will have to give this another try later.

Yes! This is exactly what I'm talking about, so it is a bug that I can't fix. Thanks
One last thing, they're supposed to do this constant shaking motion while they're aggressive, and their mouths are supposed to open, yet they don't.
That came in 1.9 (:

EDIT:
This is mostly what I'm talking about.
I think I've had this probably a while back, but only really in SMP. So it could be server side.

Curse PremiumThat came in 1.9 (:
No, they came with it back in the first 1.8 pre-release.
