I noticed that there are alot of people in the minecraft community who hate the changes that minecraft has undergone in the past year so i wanna what people in the minecraft forum think just by taking this poll cant wait to see what the results are
I'm not going to vote, but I believe the people at Mojang (and 4J when the Xbox version catches up) are just adding random into the game. Nothing is really being improved on; just more things going into the game.
Just my thoughts, but I preferred the "old", basic MC. It just seems to me that the kids got a hold of it and added stuff that really didn't have anything to do with the basic game like jungles, dragons, potions, etc., and it got too junked up. "Customizing" became more important than the game itself- in other words everyone's goal seems to be to change the game instead of just playing the game within it's confines.

I disagree, I believe all the updates on the PC version work for the game. The piston update, definitely one of the best if you ask me. However, I think I know where you're coming from. If they added guns to Minecraft, or TVs, I think it would feel somewhat out of place to me - and I assume that's probably how you feel with the potions and dragons. So even though I don't agree, I think I know what you're feeling.
Terraria... I stopped playing after the huge update. The armor looked stupid, everything seemed way too out of place, it just felt weird to me. >.>
Anyway, back to Minecraft! So far, they're mostly just trying to catch up with the PC version as much as they can, until they get to a point where they can't add anything else from the PC. So the updates do feel somewhat "empty" in ways, such as having Enderpearls that do nothing, but it's all in preperation for future updates. The PC went through the same process.
I'm not going to complain, I'd rather have a bunch of smaller updates to keep me interested rather than wait a full year for one huge update.

very true i think its a good idea that 4j decided to do small updates instead of waiting a whole year for one big update and i a huge fan of redstone agree the piston update 1.7.1 was on of the very best

i like that quote that you said that people are just changing the game instead of playing it its true but sometimes change is a good thing but not always thats why i always love to see what the community is up to because its usually something very unique that adds more fun to the game and keeps bringing me back each and every time
Hmmm... This is a thoughy for me. *thinks real hard*
I Liked the terrain generation before 1.8.2, but in the current one if I spend more time in world generation than I would in the prior version I would eventually see something I like. So that means I am neutral on this aspect.
I like most the mobs, as each has their place in the game, and glad they put in the nerfed enderman, even though I wouldn't mind them nerfed further for easy mode, and maybe strengthened for hard. Same goes for creepers. Just as many spawned before and after in my opinion. Although with them it would be nice if they reduced the frequency of their spawning in easy and maybe increase them in hard. Something along those lines. Means this I am neutral as well.
Now for the new stuff I am happy with, as I always like having more blocks to work with in building design, if not more ways to place these blocks. So right now I am neutral due to fact I like what they have added, but there is still something missing that will come in a future update.
I would be happy about the passive mob spawning, which I have had not much trouble with, however now the hunt is on but I seriously can't do much with most of the animals, hence breeding needed that will be added later.
Farming is good now that I can make Jack o' Lanterns galore, this at least was an improvement. The rest of the farming stuff is a nice add if I was able to actually use them, but as I am usually adding to my old map this is not the case. I do have other maps I can, but don't feel like the hard grind to get all that I have in my old one.
Now for the redstone stuff, that I am satisfied with, but it can be improved. Not complaining here as I can do all that I intend to use it for, if not more. Many ideas for certain aspects of my kingdoms.:D
As for the hunger bar.... I like having it, but it is useless for me since most the time I play in peaceful at the moment on my old map. Trying to make my buildings ender proof is taking a while. that and well I don't have in mind what to rebuild them out of. It will come to me sooner or later, but for now it is expasion upon my kingdom and laying out the borders of each.
So over all I actually like both before and after, but not so enthusiastic about each. Each had their ups and downs.:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I don't mind the additions; but I would like to have an option to occasionally go back to play the older, basic version with fewer different mobs. PC users can go back an play older versions of the game, but XBox users don't really have that flexibility. If we want to stay on Live, we have to accept the updates.
However, I've noticed that very young kids, just starting out, can feel easily frustrated and overwhelmed by having to try to learn to handle every mob at once... or they feel short-changed if they don't get to encounter any of them at all (i.e. peaceful mode). I suspect it's a feeling that may get worse after additional complexities (e.g enchanting and XP levels) and more and more mobs are added to the game.
Personally, I would like to be able to start young kids (and other newbies) out in an "easy" level that isn't "all or nothing" regarding the hostile mobs. Perhaps a different approach to the "easy," "normal" and "hard" difficulty settings is in order. Currently, "easy" spawns just as many hostile mobs as "hard" with the only major difference being how many hits it takes to kill them and that on hard zombies can break the doors in. When the "zombie siege" gets added, even this difference will get clouded since zombies will be able to break into the NPC villages on any of those three difficulty levels. This could be adjusted to mean that "easy" only spawns certain mobs and/or spawns them in fewer numbers. Perhaps too there could be a couple of different "easy" levels that spawn a different selected portion of the hostile mobs.
That is the primary reason I play on peaceful, since there is not much difference between easy to hard. On note of zombie siege, they break down wooden doors even if it is your own. So on easy they would not be able to, and the other 2 they can. I would prefer them reducing the spawn rate of certain mobs like I mentioned.
Even have an idea where creepers are not so explosive on easy, but more so on hard mode. This would add to the difference. Maybe even the distance between you and the creeper would be different in easy/hard to make it more so what each should be.
But as it stands at the moment, hardly a difference. That is one thing that would have been nice, as not everyone likes to play on hard mode, which it seems all 3 are pretty difficult. ><

All things that make redstone better I am fine with.
I'm glad we are going to 1.23 then our own way. We really DON'T need witches, pots, and a wither. All things that just don't make it the same anymore. But it's my opinion

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.

i totally agree with everything you say on your list except the hunger bar i thing the hunger bar is probably the best addition to the game along with redstone especially since i never play on peaceful i always play on normal and thats how i gotten so high on the leader boards

Obviously, I'm eagerly awaiting future updates. (All the while not making annoying threads about it. *hint hint* New members...) Every addition/change to redstone mechanics has been for the better, excluding piston timing which is a bit of a gray area. It reduces accidental block-drops, yet prevents intentional ones.
I don't mind the other additions, though I will probably always ignore them. I never understood why people think the game is being ruined, when they could simply choose to be oblivious to any features they don't like. There are a few you can't avoid, if playing in survival mode, but they seem to be pretty insignificant.
