ah, the creeper the one thing I just despise about minecraft.
I wish all the time that this monster was left a mistake. Whether you're exploring a cave or you're just relaxing in the fort you've created for yourself and spent countless hours perfecting the redstone circuitry throughout. There's always at least one somewhere nearby, waiting in the darkness for you to come within range of a preemptive strike. or just close enough for it to rush you and explode with little warning while you're just taking a stroll through your garden or laying floorplans for an addition to your keep.
I'm just saying my minecraft world would be a better place without everything at risk of demolition constantly.
So, what are your opinions about this coding error turned menace?
They are a menace - quick and sly and silent... until BOOOOM... but it's in a uniquely adorable way. I can't really imagine the game becoming as popular as it has if it didn't have creepers in it. Endermen, on the other hand; just don't have the same charisma.
I personally don't mind creepers, but would be nice if on easy they reduced the frequency of them.
Also have to agree enderman are the ones I don't really like at the moment. They really aught to reduce their blocks to sand and gravel on easy mode .... but that is me.
I usually play on peaceful now a days since I don't want my creations torn apart or blown up. A lot of 1.7.3 work has gone into it, and now continuing that strive it just stayed that way.><

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Creepers are just misunderstood creatures, they only want hugs.

I despise everything about creepers. I don't mind having an exploding enemy, so long as you can turn off the block damage they inflict. I like to keep my creations 100% intact, and nothing irks me more than having to shuffle through my salvaged inventory and the big hole in the house to spot out what the creeper vaporized....that of which is usually the prized jukebox or diamond sword instead of the 8 stacks of cobble or sand.
come on, creepers are awesome!
the added risk that your creations could get large holes blown through them really adds to the fun of this game...
PLUS, how hard is it to rebuild?
mind you, i was pretty peeved when a creeper blew out a wall holding back a lava flow, burning up the fresh set of diamond armor and tools my corpse left behind...
still, they add a much needed dimension of fear i guess... otherwise, what would you need to worry about?
no other mob comes close in terms of pure destructive power... no other mob is really THAT much of a threat
EDIT:
If you honestly have a problem with them, play on peaceful.
Here is the problem. i don't want to play on peaceful mode. But i do play on peaceful mode more than I'd like to just to avoid them all together. I've been working in creative mode a lot lately working on an adventure map and every time i go to test it, it's not even fun because it's a level designed to stay intact. When another player plays through it they won't be making a shelter to survive the first night, they'll be adventuring through this map collecting items along the way with pre-made safe points to stop and break at. and not to mention major puzzle elements of the map very close just beneath the surface. if one of these points gets destroyed the map becomes unbeatable.
I kinda hate creepers! They sneak up on me when Im working and scare me to death! And they kill me with one close contact explosion (mostly cause I dont wear armor alot)
I believe creepers are a necessary must, they add to so much more rage and violence to Minecraft. One of my favorite things to do in Minecraft is run around at night and kill as many as possible. Does freak me the out though if I'm building something and hear the HISSS!!! But it's already too late.
I think the Creepers are a fun risk that were added to the game. C'mon, it's fun when you're being chased by a pack of Creeps and they start to blow up stuff. *Sigh* TNT I don't need to make...

I guess I'm just not as optimistic haha. But I've been having bad experiences with them lately.

However they're very shy and explode when you invade their personal space.EDIT:

But...but....you can't hug with nuclear arms!
... and you can't hug with no arms either.

OP: Creepers are fine if you see them.
