I wish they would be able to make it more realistic with the seasons as well, but I would rather them just catch us up with the PC and then when they start moving in the other direction we can try to convince them to do this.
No. Fall would be the worst idea ever. very very few people probably want to see forest biomes turn into "1x1 towers of wood everywhere" biomes because the leaves fell off of them.
I don't like the idea of seasons myself, but to be fair, if they really wanted to implement it, they'd probably add coniferous trees to avoid that scenario, you know. Similar to the trees in the Taiga.
If you made seasons then in the winter biomes snow wouldn't go anyway...
You would also have it dark or bright winter biomes for whole seasons... If you wanted to simulate the earths poles.

I put my shirt on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.
Been looking for a map with 60% and more snow on it...
If you have one don't be the one to hide it from me.
PM me or something
Gamertag is also below...
I just wanna play on a snow map but i can never find one >:\
Just one person posting a topic of something like "Please take away this!" or "Please add this!" isn't going to make a difference with the game itself.
Mojang wouldn't do what the community demands if it was just one person. It's more likely they'll either add it if it's been a more popular idea or they do their own stuff.
And since we're talking about the Xbox version of Minecraft 4J Studios only adds features of Minecraft Versions that have been previously released so most likely you won't get your suggestion out.
People should stop complaining about stuff that most likely would never be added to Minecraft it's really just adding more hassle with the traffic of the forum and spamming the thread more and more.

Instead of complaining go ahead and edit the code for Minecraft or find a mod that removes snow biomes from terrain generation if that suits your needs.
And to save up the hassle for that seasons idea here is a mod that I use since it was released but hasn't been updated yet.

Lol this is so funny.....
I love it when this happens... Psssssst Hey Neon I think your in the Xbox section
i look at it like the map is the whole world, the Snow biome is the north or south poles,
i like the idea of seasons but dont know how or if they could implement it
Oh how it would be implimented is pretty simple, although it would be a curve in the programing since you have to modify the current existing weather behavior. Unless of course they separated it from the rest so that it would be modifiable with ease.
Basically each biome has either rain or snow at the moment. Well since they should never take out the snow biome, that would be ludicrous. In each you could specify whether it ever rains and snows, kinda like another check box for each, and would give chance to having even wilder enviroment, due to having a randomness wether it would snow or not in a biome of any kind beyond the snowy one. The snowy one it will always snow no matter what. On the opposite side of that, the desert could have something similar to snow, sandstorm where you will get a layer of sand similar to the way snow works, craftable to sand blocks.
As for the rest of the biomes like forest, ocean, plains...etc. there would be some randomness whether or not when the season comes around it will snow or rain. Like I said before when the map or biomes are genrated that biome will have that little bit of extra code to see whether it will snow/rain. So you would see snowy plains, and winter villages...O_o and as well snowy forests. For the mountains it could be random as well making it either or. However it could be at a certain height it will snow no matter what, so you might get snow at the peaks or all over the mountains.
For each season would be a frequency of how much it rains/snows.
That is one way to go about it. Simple yes, but quite complex to some degree in the coding. However, it could be compacted, as all programming can.
I would prefer not having seasons, as I like minecraft the way it is at the moment. But "IF" it were to go that route, this would be a likelihood how it might come around into the coding.:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I started this topic to see what people thought, I think it would be a cool --option--
i guess people dont like it that much, I think it would be great idea, how about leaves not falling off trees though just turning orange or somthing.

4J has already added things that are exclusive to the 360 version. So far they've been small additions, but that could easily change. Once MCXBLA reaches the equivalent update to PC's official 1.2.3 update, 4J and Mojang are going to have a meeting, concerning the direction which the 360 version should take. 4J has made it quite clear that they would like to add more exclusives to MCXBLA. I would say it's a pretty good chance the devs will actually be paying attention to our suggestions in the future.
That being said, the suggestion in this thread is a horrible idea. OP thought this up in about 5 minutes and decided to post it on the interwebz.
you would have to pretty much rewrite MC's weather coding, which would delay all the future updates/DLC ?
atbh this isnt what MC is about...
yes simple... But still rather difficult to put in... probably should have added that... I was saying in context the way programming begins, as a rough draft on board without the technical stuff.
yes I have done a bit here and there, but nothing really spectacular.... I tend to modify things on the pc, but haven't really done that in a way so it is quite possible that programming has changed but not really a whole lot. However I only know the basics...><

Lol I know happens to me all the time. I edited the post btw but have sometime to check out the mod XD
(Darn you active topics sidebar thing-ma-jig doesn't include what section that topic was in >:3)
EDIT: Atleast I gave him a direction to a mod that adds seasons that covers half of his request.
