alright so I have a wheat farm and it doesnt seem to be producing properly. i have 5 levels of wheat and 2 4x4 wheat farms (each 4x4 has there own water source.) I had all the wheat fully grown and double checked each area was fully grown. then i harvested them with water. i pull a lever the pistons open up and then water pushes the wheat and seeds to an area. im getting 72 wheat and around the same amount of seeds. i should be getting 160 wheat.
question:
1). why isnt this working?
2). has anyone else noticed a decrees in seeds from wheat?
easiest farm for me is really to just do line based farms put all the dirt blocks on top of fences, what that does is if you step/run on the dirt it wont mess it up and you dont have to "re-hoe" the dirt and replanting seeds sideways is fast!

wont this get fixed in the newer updates? since the PC version you can run/walk on the dirt but if you jump on it then you will have to re-hoe it
thats a lot of pistons. lol great well time to redo the wheat farm.

Honestly not too sure on that I'm not to well versed on the PC version and what the updates will or won't do, But so far my grass is safe with the fence whether i jump, run or walk on it... for now! :-D

Water only destroys items that it directly falls on top of so some loss could be that. Also a big part of the loss is that MC360 can only handle 200 drops at anytime. Anything over 200 gets automatically destroyed.

i think its the 200 drop thing because i have the water on the same level as the wheat and the piston raises up to let the water push it to a location. thanks now i know why my farm sucks XD

Plant plots of 60 blocks. You will get 60 wheat and 120 seeds almost every time.
water doesnt destroy the crops, they disappear when theres too many 'floating' items around,
try reducing the amount of crops your harvesting at any one time, i believe you dont want to harvest more than about 50 wheat (allowing for seed drops) at any one time, and make sure you collect all items before harvesting the next lot of wheat
i think the amount of 'floating' items is limited to 150-200ish
I don't know about water not destroying, Although the count it probably correct. I do know water destroys items here and there, doesn't matter what it is, so it would be a little loss but not as much loss as you would get when hitting the cap. So I believe it is a little of both. I have had water on flat ground destroy items, but not always. Seems to do it quite random when it happens.
Anyway it just looks like you have too many farm plots to count. So reducing the amount in which is harvested at once will yield you more in the end.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

The flowing water destroys some of the dropped items.
As far as I know, there's no way to fix it.
Knowledge is power, guard it well.

This thread bores me.
