@1xMobSlayerx1, thanks for the +1. It was just a quick throw together to hopefully give Priscilla an idea to run with, but if I was actually going to do it, I would probably do like a Magic card or something, giving it a cool style.
Glad I saw your post. I was going to hop into Photoshop and make a few examples myself, but you saved me the time.
First of all, I'm a girl, anyone who pays attention could recognize it from my username.
Second of all, I did not copy from the wiki. Copy and pasted? That would be pure ignorance to do so on my part. This is my knowledge on the game. This thread took the wrong turn. I do not care if a mod closes this at this point, because its obviously quite a few people against me here.
I'm not against you, per se, but the concept is redundant. If people want to know about a block, they will Google it and the Wiki's page for it will be the first result 99% of the time. Even if your thread pops up right under it and they take notice, chances are they will choose the Wiki over a post by a random person on some forum. (No offense, all of us here are random persons on some forum.) Though not completely reliable, Wiki pages are assumed to be more factual than something like a forum post. Not to mention, they contain a lot more information, often cited from legitimate sources.
Your details for the blocks/items are very watered down, bare bones definitions so to speak. I see nothing about the block IDs, no information about the blocks' opacity, little about the quirks of an item. For example, according to your information, a sticky piston and regular piston appear to be the exact same thing. And the only extra info you gave about a redstone torch is that it can be a power source, which is probably the thing it is least used for.
There are already a ridiculous amount of pages on the interwebz containing the information you listed, and plenty more on top of that. There's really nothing you can do to improve on these sources. Not trying to be a jerk, I'm just saying this thread doesn't really serve a purpose.

@GoldOre, =) glad I was able to save you some time. Would still like to see what you were thinking. If you have a bit of spare time post up your examples.
I think the OP's idea is great. Whether the info exists elsewhere is moot. I'm not the only one who thinks the wiki and forums are slow and clogged with ads. Having all the relevant info in a text file that can be printed, tossed onto an e-reader, phone, tablet, or just referenced without requiring internet access isn't a bad idea. Wiki pages are overkill for what a player usually needs to know about most items, especially on the 360.
@lukestergaming - love the idea of a book of minecraft, would that be something you would be interested in working on and developing the information. I know we could then take all the information and design both something physical that someone could print and something that is in e-book format for those that like digital files.
This. On a mobile app....Not a bad idea, looks great too.
@SIII1192 - thanks for the support on the just a quick throw together. I have contacted priscilla about her idea and work to see if she would be willing to put it together for a post on a new blog that I am going to put together for just the XBLA version. If interested, drop by my post and leave any feedback you have on the idea - here - any input would be most helpful. Again, thanks.
