It's been stated in minecon that Capture the Flag will be implemented for the Xbox before the PC version. So the point of this thread is to ask, What would you like to see in a Capture the Flag mode? What new blocks should there be?

This. I would also like to see them have a redstone charge in them (like a torch) this would make setting up things like flag taken/returned announcements easy. It would be doable without it, it would just save me a little time aha

Since they're considering it as an actual gamemode, I don't think that will be necessary. I envision preset maps and notices that pop up when a flag is taken. It would be cool if they made it possible to create your own "real" CTF maps though. Then you could have some sort of option to set points where flags would be in the CTF mode. They would probably do something like this if that is how they intend to implement the new feature.
Haha I didn't even think about that it would be interesting to see how they approach it. My guess would be two blocks needed a flag and a capture block maybe linked by color. As I can't see them allowing us to adjust the parameters any other way. Still though having a new game mechanic to play with sounds fun.

I would love this too since I've started construction on a 4v4 CTF map. It would be great to host a custom map within the new game mode and would really allow me to use my roots of CS map making to contribute more to the community.

I am hoping they don't add "Capture the Flag" as a gamemode. We have Creative, Survival (Adventure Survival later), and now Capture the Flag? Wouldn't "Hunger Games" be a better and more used mode? To me, the mode just doesn't fit..

The wiki also has a source (video) & so will come out, so it's no use to complain. Besides, capture the flag will be Survival with a premade map & new blocks that we can experiment with. A CTF would be a new cool new idea in all those pvp maps.
I'd like to see us play online with local members, not just friends, in capture the flag mode, I doubt that will happen though.
We should also have colored armor to distinguish what team we're on.

Oh no, a new feature that I'm not being forced to use!
Why would we need a specific mode? I think we can easily make one that requires you to place 3 redstone torches on blocks to activate TNT to fall down or something.
That was quite bold of you, assuming I though this ruined the game.
I could see how some would like it, but I personally do not like it.
Game developers need both positive and negative feedback from the community. Just because I have a different point of view does not mean I am wrong.
Yeah, it was a dramatization of your post, just a bit of humor. But, here's the real deal.
4J realizes that Xbox's major demographic loves FPS titles. They see that they've inherited Halo fans, CoD kiddies, Battlefield junkies, etc. They know that these people love PVP-style gameplay. And what is one of the most popular gamemodes on nearly every FPS? Capture the Flag.
I personally don't care too much for CTF in Minecraft either, and will play it very rarely. What I do care for is anything that will influence sales of MCXBLA, generating more money for 4J and increasing their funds that can be used to improve the game as a whole. If that means a flood of squeakers becoming a part of the community, so be it. It's not like they'll be on my friends list any time soon.

The video doesn't actually say anything about CTF though.

I agree.
Considering that minecraft is all about building stuff, CTF mode must also encourage creativity.
