Once things are saved it is saved, at least on the xbox. You can not revert to another save as it is only 1 file for each world in which it saves to. So the best thing to do is use the many options to you for this purpose to help prevent something like this. As long as you don't have autosave on and are careful enough you can avoid getting griefed.
The only way to insure is to have a USB storage device that works with xbox to have a back up of the world. That is the only way as of yet to Insure you have a fallback.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Thats pretty stupid. I think im gonna suggest an idea for the next update.
Or, ya know, you could do what the rest of the world has been doing for the past 20+ years and back up any information you feel is important. Nothing is guaranteed, there are times when you're just completely screwed, even on PC, when 'System Restore' can't even fix the problem. Well, if someone had backed up all their files in that situation, they could just shrug and clean-install the OS all over again. Within an hour everything would've been back to normal.
You can't blame 4J for yourself not thinking this through until it was too late. Yes, it would be handy to have multiple files of a world, and I've said so before. But that doesn't mean it's the dev's responsibility to babysit your gamesaves. Even then, that doesn't guarantee complete safety.
Even I don't fully trust the System Restore on the PC, which is the reason I back up when I can every so often the things I deem important. Lost so much due to not doing that just one time before my PC crashed many many years ago.
That was the reason I made sure I could find a USB storage flash drive that would work with Xbox. Just would have been nice to have stored a back up of the game prior to 1.8.2 update so I could possibly make 1.7.3 worlds. Just don't know how the update thing works on xbox or if that itself would have been possible. Anyway at least I have a back up of most my worlds so I don't have to worry too much when an update comes out again.

I doubt 4J is going to implement your idea. No other game on the Xbox 360 has what you will be asking for. The only way to get what you want would be to have the game create a new save every single time your game autosaves, or you manually save.
