Since the update, I had no problems finding Cows, Sheep, and Pigs.. Been playing for almost a week, exploring the whole map over and over.. NO chicken.. Is anyone else having this problem? Thanks..
After the bug fix update, I had plenty of animals for about 4 minecraft days. Now I've not seen an animal above ground for at least a week of minecraft days. Some people have noted that the animals in their maps had swam out to sea and were stuck out there. Others have noted that their animals have become stuck in caves underground. I don't have much water around this area of the map I've been in, so I am currently searching underground caves for mine. So far, however, I have only found 1 chicken almost at bedrock and stuck swimming at the base of a waterfall.
I've only found about 4 chickens in my world generated after the update. On my other world I made before the update, I have a small chicken farm with 2 chickens (I accidently hit one out, so I had to kill it. The fence was 2 high.).
Because of the low chicken count I am noticing, my only source of arrows is skullies. I have half a stack of flint in my chest that I didn't farm at all. I need more feathers!
I'm low on chickens too managed to get 2 of them into my "farm" and none of their eggs have spawned chickens :-(... Most animals seem to be in ravines/pools of water.

The thing with Chickens that you need to watch for is that they can actually float/fly down a hole that is very deep and survive it. Other animals will instantly die if they fall down these holes but not a chicken. I had a chasm from bedrock to ground level and I would sit there and watch the chickens fly down very slowly. Check for cave entrances that go underground and clear them out if you find any chickens and close it up so they stop going in.
Same here in my post 1.8.2 world. All the pigs, cows, and sheep I could ask for. But nary a chicken. Not to mention I have not found a single Skeleton dungeon either all zombies. I have so much flint and not a single feather to help them fly. This Goon needs more ARROWS!

Same here.
Other than that, most animals have been fine for me.
