Help...I haven't played Minecraft in a couple of months, but I decided to get on today on my xbox, and boy have things changed. I realize that there is a Survival Mode and a Creative Mode. My old worlds that I made before are not effected by this issue, but when I make a new world, I have no option of making much of anything. I can't make a bed or a door or any tools or weapons. I can't make a furnace, I cant make buckets I cant make swords or panes of glass...i cant mine stone because i can't make pickaxes. Its like this on any of the characters that i log on to. So, my question is...did they take all of that out of the game in survival mode? Like I said, I can still make them all with my old worlds but not if I make a new world...weird very weird. Thanks for any help.

**Update: Not sure how to delete this so I'll update it...had to delete minecraft and re-download it and now everything seems to be working correctly. Not sure what happened, but thanks for the ideas and help.

When you make a new world are you saying you can't get some wood by hand, make some wood axes, mine some stone with the wood axes, and then make stone axes? Because that would be odd.

Get the ingredients that are needed found in the crafting bench!

The only thing different in survival, or should be, is the hunger bar. 1.8.2 added that. Beyond that I don't see why you wouldn't be able to make any of it when the materials are on hand. Even in the new creative mode you can so this leads me to a bit of confusion as to why you can't.

So possibly it you can not get into the crafting menu with or without a crafting bench then I have no idea what is going on.><

Just a few suggestions to possibly check... Did you create these worlds in creative mode and are you still perhaps in creative mode? Do you perhaps have the trust players option unchecked? Do you have Host Privileges turned on and perhaps have made yourself invisible?
