I was trying random seeds and found one I liked made in survival mode that spawn me out in the middle of some water. There were some mountains and such on the nearby shore. So I saved it. Then I went back and loaded the newly created world in creative mode so I could fly and take a look around at things.
When it loaded the spawn point was no longer in the water and the terrain was not even close to what the original seed created. So I deleted it and tried making it new with the same seed as before. But each time from then on the spawn point was on land in the formerly saved world.
It seems the first time the world generated maybe was corrupt or something and reloading it corrected the problem. Not a big deal, just sort of interesting behavior of the program. I didn't like the world anyway so it was not a big loss.
Not sure. I do know that every time you spawn a new world, even with the same seed, you will most likely get a very different spawn point each time. Are you sure you just weren't in a different spot?
I've only had a map spawn me in a different location when I don't save and then load it up again. However it is the same map just spawned in a different location. Never had it happen when I save and exit, as that would save me right where I stand...O_o

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

It would be difficult to say for sure since the first time I created it I immediately saved it. But as is said usually when you save your world you alway load back where you saved. Not the case in this since I saved in the water and reloaded on land. No big deal but just more a curiousity.
