I know im supossed to post on the bug subforum but then my problem will never be viewed. I started a new world for building on creative. I started this after the 1.8.2 bug fix patch so its a very new world.
anyways i built a house very far from the spawn and made minecart tracks going all the way from the spawn, and all the way to an NPC village and my house. I just started making a basement to my house and my plan was to have a simple piston door. (FYI, im no redstone noob) I made it and it worked perfectly twice. then when i left it alone for a second the bookshelves that the pistons were connected too started spazzing out the the piston turned invisible, and didnt work anymore. this now happens every time i try to open or close my door.
Things that might be asked...
Are you sure its wired right?: yes. like i said, im no redstone noob.
Regular world or superflat?: regular world
Maybe i accidently made a redstone clock that caused the pistons to go crazy?: no, its wired correctly and the pistons arent making sound when this happens
Anyways thats my story. sorry its so long. any help is appreciated
Can you provide pictures, or possibly a world download? You didn't explain how it was made.
im afraid all i can do is invite people to my game. im not capable of posting pictures or downloads. sorry about that.
But its always on creative mode, no one else is ever in my game, mobs are turned off at the moment, im at a very high altitude. this mechinism itself is about 10-15 blocks from the sky limit. that may be affecting it. This is also the only piston mechinism i have made in this world.

You should build several others just like it and see if you can re-create the problem. If you can, try to isolate the problem.
It sounds like this could be a bug, but as was said, it's really difficult to tell without screenshots. In my experience, I've only had piston bugs this problematic when nearly 200 of them were firing at once, on a 19-tick cycle no less. (Then again this was on a superflat world... but still.)

Retired StaffIt was one of the blocks that had redstone on it. it was a corrupted block that held a charge. The problem is fixed now.
