I think cave spiders are slightly bigger than 1/2 a block... at least putting some 1/2 slabs in my mob drop trap prevented them from coming out of the trap and killing me. I never had trouble with any of the spiders that survived the drop escaping the trap before the 1.8.2 update; but right after I had a spider get out of the trap and attack me. I reasoned that it could only have been that a cave spider somehow spawned inside the trap. I fortunately survived the attack and quickly made some 1/2 slabs to close up the 1 block openings in the trap to 1/2 block openings. Since I made that modification to the design, I haven't had another spider escape the trap.

Yeah, cave spiders are pretty small. They are small but deadly. And annoying....

Ha, You should see chickens, they seem to clip through fences that are next to blocks. Hope this gets fixed.

I actually found a spawner right next to some lava and made it easier to destroy, but there happened to be ANOTHER one a few blocks behind it. So I got poisoned, then got attacked by a zombie. I fell and took half a heart of fall damage while fleeing and then died. I lost my pants.
