Alright so I'm about to host my first hunger games map, but I don't want the players to keep lagging out because the world won't render. Is it possible if I let them walk the world before the match and load that it won't lag out? Also if I let them do that is there a option where they wont be able to open chests and peak whats inside before the match?
Not sure if turning the "trust players" option off would prevent them from opening chests. Not being able to interact with any blocks was reported as a bug since the non-trusted players couldn't open doors, so I'm not sure if 4J changed it with the bug fix. If not, then unchecking the trust players box should stop them from opening the chests. As for the lagging, I'm not sure. You, as host, are still going to have to enter the world first anyway, since it's your world and you're Player 1. I don't think it can be active on the XBox without you in it. If it's specifically limited to those players, then it sounds like those players may need to do something to optimize their internet. If it happens every time a, say, 3rd player, enters the world, then it just might be your internet or an over-taxed graphics card in your XBox. You can try blowing the dust out from the fan area of the XBox which sometimes helps with performance.

Yes, it will help with your lag issue, i'm just not sure how much. It seems to help with my games a little.
Yes, if you turn trust players off, they can not access anything, including doors and chests. You can use pressure plates to let them into areas or buildings that are walled off or whatever.

Dunno about rendering and lag though.
