I would say a mixture of stone and wools would be best, mainly using the wool for hilights or various areas to make not so bland looking. I mean the original buildings after all didn't look bland, just very tall. So some color in certain areas might help, which is what the wool is for. However clay does have a good contrast with stone, so you might be able to use that in certain spots too.

i did it... the first tower extirior is done.. clay and the dark spots, grey wool. when my thing lets me post screenchots to facebook, i will show you all

and if you make a plane along with the world trade centers or anything that involves 9/11 then this is not appropriate at all. I do not have a problem with it, especially if you are just making the towers. But anything like an explosion on the building or something like that I do not feel like you should make this creation.
