Have you thought about how many PC players would be pissed at Mojang and 4J? There would riots all over Switzerland ( because that's where Mojang and 4J are) and soon, Mojang will lose millions of dollars and will have to cancel MC. FOREVER!
Lol...I still think it wouldn't kill anyone if the PC version took a little break...I personally have stopped playing mcxbox because it gets old, especially when you know a ton of cool stuff is down the line. Everytime the pc gets a new update...a little part of me dies, because I know all that new awesomeness is going to be a long time coming before we get it.

Who said we're going to be catching up to the PC? 4J said we're going as far as 1.2.3 and they'll then go their own direction with the Xbox 360 Edition.
The Xbox 360 version is not simply a port. It is a completely separate version of the game that will be different from the PC version in the future.
If they do not update it to 1.4.5, it will be a huge bummer man. But I do look forward to see how 4J will branch off and give MCxbox it's own exclusive content. I hope they create their own mob (hopefully non-passive).

We will never catch up, but maybe, just maybe we will get things they do not have. It has been said we will get something original. I hope it is something that the PC world envies.
i wish people on this forum would take a break from arguing PC vs. XBox... even just for a day. I don't think, though, that either one of us is going to get our wish. It's simply not in Mojang's best financial/business interest to delay a PC update in order to have the XBox version catch up; so they are not likely to ever do it, period.
I hope the PC version speeds ahead with the updates, why cause next few PC updates will be focused on refining the game: lighting fixes, mod API, redoing the rendering system. All of these take a lot of time to do, giving 4J studios time to catch up a bit. Minecraft will never stop being updated until sales slow down not nothing. You could say 4J studios should work faster, however that usally means mote bugs, which is bad.
BTW i pulled the "game refinements" from the Minecraft wiki, so they could be not 100% accurate

minecrafter1942, Christmas is coming up - find a way to get yourself a PC (the best gaming machine available) and catch up with the rest of the world! It's so easy!

As Mustache said, after 1.2.3 the xbox goes it's own way. There will be no "catching up". CEO Burns said the xbox version may become more "competitive" or parents & kids oriented, not to mention the addition of "exclusive content" that has already been promised.
People tend to forget that the PC version is only the "first" version. There's some things right with it, and some things wrong. It isn't the End All/Be All version…. and nothing says it can't be improved on. Scrote is right- there could be things added to the xbox version that will make the PC'ers really jealous! They've already added one thing- a tutorial. The PC needs one bad for all the newcomers to MC.

There might well be riots in Switzerland (which I doubt since most Swiss are very chill people), but neither company is in Switzerland. Mojang is based in Sweden and 4J Studios is based in Scotland.
On topic: I do not want the Xbox version to catchup with the PC (I play both), I would rather the Xbox go its own way and not end up being just another port. If we look at everything that 4J has said and even Notch (read that he wants to see the Xbox version do its own thing), then after 1.2.3, they will all sit back down to discuss the direction that the xbox will be going. Fingers crossed that Mojang let 4J add some really cool exclusive things to the game.
All I want for the xbox edition is those Almight Flower Pots!
For real though I like playing minecraft on the Xbox over the Pc, the more time I spend on it the less I care about the distance between the two. Really excited to see where 4j studios takes the game down the road.
