Didn't they fix the drowning glitch where once you are drowning u can't swim back up? I thought they did but with the latest update it is back. Just lettin u know
Hmm I don't know if thats really a glitch? if you were actually drowning in water I think you would be sinking down deeper, rather than still having the ability to get yourself back up to the surface like you would if you weren't drowning.
(if that made no sense at all, then ignore me xD)
I think when you drown IRL you lose oxygen supply to your brain and lose consciousness underwater.
While unconscious you would continue breathing as you would above water and fill your lungs with water.

I've swam out of still water while drowning. If you start drowning in an enclosed pillar of falling water, you're screwed. Even if you're only one block away from air, it's not happening. I'm pretty sure this is intended though.
Depends on where you are it seems. Out in the open I can still swim well enough even when far far below the surface. In narrow crevices and such there seems to be a down suction effect that pulls me down every time I take damage. Think it's like an invisible underwater waterfall that happens on uneven terrain.
I had a glitch where I had at least 2 air bubbles left. They stopped depleting while I was in the water and I drowned. It was also like there was an 'invisible barrier' at the surface.

Were you under ice? You can't see Ice from under water.
