I made a world in my own name and fell in love with it (sad I know)
Spent a lot of time building in it. Problem is. There is no more sheep, so I cant get wool.
Been looking everywhere.. Seems like they are not spawning anymore. Is this a bug.
Will it happen to my next world as well?
Passive animals have a spawn limit. More than likely you have a bunch trapped down in a cave somewhere you need to find and kill before more will spawn.
As Urban_Blackbear has suggested, you may have several sheep trapped in a watering hole or in a cave someplace. The difference between 1.7.3 and 1.8.2 is that they no longer despawn. It used to be that the old ones became trapped, they eventually despawned and were replaced on surface with new ones, so you wouldn't notice the trapped ones going missing. Now they stay trapped until you find them and kill them to enable new ones to fill their spawn slots.
In 1.8.2, there has also been an issue with wolves spawning in some worlds at such a frequent rate that the available slots are soon all taken up by wolves and the other passive mobs stop spawning. If this is the issue in your world, there is some relief coming since 4J have indicated in the bug fix changelog that they have made some adjustments to rebalance this a bit.
Search and destroy wolves. And if you haven't already, be sure to clear the tall grass around your base. You'll eventually start seeing animals pop up after doing these 2 things.
2 Things that should help you.
-Flat land (Animal mobs love flatland areas for some reason. Guess it gives them more space to spawn
-Spiders. You see them every night, And sometimes in the day time. 4 String = 1 wool block.
I mean really tho, once you making a couple of fishing rods and a bow you really don't need string like that.
The funniest recipe is the one that takes a white wool and a bonemeal to make white wool. I assumed they intended to make any color of wool dyable to white but the recipe only accepts white wool.

That's the bleached white wool.....the regular white wool isn't really white, it's an eggshell color from the sheep laying on the ground.
no need to worry about feel`n dumb for not finden the recipe it is in kinda a dumb spot.Myabe in the ingots into blocks woulda been a better spot, same with bone meal though should be in tools or food.
I would not recommend killing wolves. Not before the next patch.
I spent more than a week being a wolf slayer - and not just in one part of the world. I also tried taming them, leading them away and blowing them up.
They ALWAYS respawned - within minutes. And since they don't drop a darned thing, it was a huge waste of time.
New here. Sorry is this has been discussed..

I will make some wool of the spiders then. And yes I have noticed a huge amount of wolves..
And I`ll search the caves for lost sheep
But if you worked with wool before 1.8 then you've passed it plenty of times not knowing

Cave spider spawner turned into a grinder is also nice to have.
Yeah honestly, I only knew about the fishing rod and bow recipe for string. Wow, I wasted so much time searching for sheep... I feel silly now..
P.S I love your avatar

"Fix to the mob generation code to increase the number of animals in the world."
So, yes.
