aka Silver has now been disabled from downloading. (backed up MC360 to pendrive to test) then tried to redownload and sure as creper explosions. "You must be Gold to download this Content"
Pretty soon they'll probably remove private chat and the ability to download free apps and demos. Then XBL Silver will only be used for window shopping.
The quality of Netflix over the 360 is terrible too. I get much better quality off my Smart Blu-Ray player. If gold wasn't required for online gaming I wouldn't have it.

That doesn't sound right to me at all. The reason I don't believe it's intentional is that it would be cutting off a large portion of their revenue stream. If free accounts could not download XBL games, then obviously their users could not buy XBL games. Sometimes a demo or other content will be exclusive to gold members for a limited time, but that's about it. Video streaming and all that other rot (including most definitely Internet Explorer) I could not care less about. I have much better ways of accessing such facilities than my game machine.
yeah thats microsoft for you. they do that with netflix. so i guess i have to pay for internet pay for netflix AND pay for xbox gold.
of course you have to pay for internet to pay for netflix? why the hell do you think it's called NETflix? without internet, netflix doesn't exist, don't blame microsoft for that. believe it or not, there are also other ways to access netflix. you dont "have" to pay for xbox to access netflix.

i doubt it. the features offered with free membership are there to make free members want the paid features and, if nothing else, keep them on xbox. take away all their features and they'll just buy a competitor's console. Not directed toward you, it also wouldn't make sense for microsoft to stop allowing people to PAY (since that seems to be everyone's focus) for games/apps, which leads me to believe OP's problem is some kind of glitch. That would be like saying "okay well since you're not going to pay me for this, i'm not going to let you give me ANY of your money."
lastly, of course they hate silver more. I'd like all of you a lot more if you paid me $60 every year.

On a warm summers evening on a train bound for no where.
I met up with a Gambler, we were both to tired to sleep.
So we took turns a staring out the window at the darkness.
Till Gordium overtook us and he began to speak.
He said boy I've made a life out of reading people's faces and knowin what the cards were by the way they held their eyes.
So if you don't mind my sayin I can see you out of aces.
For a taste of your whiskey I can give you some advice.
.. So I handed him my bottle and he drank down my last swallow then he palmed a cigarette and asked me for a light.
And the night got deathly quiet and his face lost all expression, he said if gonna play the game boy ya gotta learn to plAaay it right.
You gotta now when to hold em,
When to fold em,
When to walk away,
When to run,
You don't count your money when your sittin at the table theyll be time enough for countin when the dealings done.

I put my shirt on one leg at a time, just like everybody else.
i have no problem paying for live netflix and internet. and i have to pay for meds every month (and rent) + all the bills, you just have to be more conservative with your money and you will get where you want to be.

like what the duece, not only do you have to pay for netflix

BUT.... you can use Hulu Plus with a silver account. :|
Granted, I am still gold, but my two cents on this.
