My cousin and I want to make a world. We want to keep the world and NEVER have to start over again. We're currently waiting for Levelling to be added into the game, and possibly the End.
I just have 1 quick question:
1. Would it be okay to make a world now? If we do, when the update hits, will there ever be a chance of seeing a stronghold with a portal in our game?

If you don't explore the entire world, you can have some of the new generation features. Whether or not a stronghold will be in those chunks is a gamble. Imo, starting a new world isn't really a big deal. You'll always be able to play on the old one whenever you feel like it.

I guess. But we're putting A LOT of effort into it. I'm going to be building generators, etc. So that's why I want to have one world.

If you don't mind having an ugly world you could start now as the terrain will change and make very ugly looking map with old generation and new generation chunks.
But you will have to leave some un explored.

Retired StaffIf it is unexplored it might, but this is a risk, your map not contain one at all, or it might be under an already explored area.
