Before I begin, let me say that I am very happy with the recent changes in the game so this is in no way a rant or complaint.
I have found that as much as I have tried to resist the urge to 'cheat' and switch to creative. Its just way to easy to give in and make the switch to creative at least once in a while.
What I would really love to is a world that is purely survival without giving me the option to cheat. I'm just too weak!
On PC they have an option when you start a world that allows cheats in your survival world or not which basically allows you to have a survival world with all the creative world benefits. But you can also have a pure survival world that will not ever allow you to toggle it to creative.
Are we going to get this option in a future update?

I've been against having the ability to switch between the two modes in the game all along. There's no point in playing "creative survival". The developers basically put "legal duping" in the game. Maybe it's not the game's fault a player has little will power… but it's also the game's fault that he has to exercise that will power in the first place.
I don't know whether they will put such a toggle in the game. If they do, great. If they don't, however, it will just be like most everything in life... up to you to resist the temptations.

Only people who view duping/Creative as cheating have a problem with the option being there and being easily accessed.
If you don't want to use Creative, then don't. It isn't any more complicated than that.

If someone takes a survival world into creative, the consequence is forfeiting further leaderboard stat improvements on said world. That's all it really needs to be. Many people eventually become bored with a world and may want to build something huge and ridiculous, on that world, with ease. Or one may simply wish to blow their world into a million pieces. Why should they be restricted from doing so just because some players can't control themselves?
