Xbox Smart Glass: Xbox smart Glass is using smart devices (smart phone, etc..) to control Xbox functions.
Minecraft: A sandbox game that lets you build your dreams block by block. Now with an adventure/survival objective!
Combined: I think that we can use Xbox Smart Glass to look up the Minecraft wiki.
Your first thoughts: I can already do that.
Explained Thought: Imagine yourself just getting Minecraft and setting up Xbox Smart Glass and the new update comes out. (Your un-experienced with Minecraft) You found an apple! Wondering what you can do with an apple in the exciting game of Minecraft you open your inventory and look at the information for the item apple. It gives you a brief description of how much hunger it satisfies. Not knowing much you press the new [RB] button on the item and it opens the wiki page on your Xbox Smart Glass device. Now you know that you can make golden apples. After weeks of using this feature you are now a Minecraft expert that can teach a noob how to survive on hard.
Minecraft Change: All that will be needed to change is a addition to the interface of the item description.

I absolutely love Smart Glass so this would be a welcome addition in my book but probably wouldn't happen.

* Not everyone has a smart phone. I don't. (And if I did, I wouldn't think it's an invaluable my life. Google "nomopobia".)
* Not needed. If you have the Tips on, when you run across a new object a tip telling you about it is displayed. You don't need the wiki. And I'm not about to get blown up by a creeper while I'm checking the wiki on my smart phone.
if using a smart phone while driving is dangerous, using one while playing MC is also distracting.
Like Geneo says, you don't want to be getting blown up because you spend 10 minutes reading the wiki.
Glass would make sense in cases where you aren't already holding the controller, but in games, it's a terrible idea to put the controller down to work with another device.
I would really like to see this feature added, it'd be extremely useful and helpful; of course you can pull up your browser on your phone and go to the wiki but it wuld be cool having the game's inventory and device being synced. I think for the screen on the device should show the hotbar and allow you to switch items if you wanted to, of course you could just do that with the controller. But it should change when you bring up your inventory showing it on the screen and being able to choose an item to lookup info about and being able to rearange your inventory.
What i'de really like to see is this feature somehow put into multiplayer, as me and my friends have a hard time seeing our inventories on the screens.
Seems like a long way to go just for a bit of information. Geneo hit the nail on the head. Also, not everyone has Windows 8 either.
it can be used on itouches, as far as i've experienced it doesn't have any functionality in games though, just on the dashboard and in apps like IE. it is incredibly useful in IE, but thats honestly about it.
I've never needed to use the wiki while playing MC on the xbox... Smartglass seems so primitive at this point and should be expanded to add more game based features.
I like the way you set up the post, but yeah, this would be something like genius. I have played Minecraft for over six months and I still get confused with somethings, and some things in Minecraft are still new to me.
it's a great idea, but it's not likely to happen unless 4j worked on the Smart Glass app, and they don't. But... you can type signs faster... so there's uh, something.
yes i think you could do many neat things with this smartglass stuff. i like the idea of linking to the wiki or having a map. you could do things like the wii-u or ds with a second touch screen.

In minecon I think they said they couldn't add in typeable books because of the controller, maybe you can use the smart glass with that too

But, yeah, would never use the other smart glass thing. Plus I'm using an old nokia. . . 3310 anyone? Hey, it works, and it can't be hacked.

Surely, I think there should be more uses for XSG or it should not exist.
