I have a strange addiction towards leaderboards (and am fairly new to minecraft), so I have a couple questions regarding farming and the farming leaderboards. So I know that with tall wheat grass if you break it wheat will pop out, but do you have to pick it up to count towards your total? Also, if you harvest the wheat in a different way (see my video below) that seamed to not count towards the leaderboards either.
I am fairly certain that picking up the item counts towards the leader boards as I picked up one egg and it popped up on the leaderboard but I could be mistaken.
First off your farm is extremely inefficient as you're losing wheat and seeds every time you farm. This is due to a drop item limit that is 200. You need to section of your farm into 66 blocks, because each wheat and drop 3 things and 3 times 66 is 198. This way you'll get the maximum amount of wheat and seeds so you can replant.
Second your ground gets trampled, this can be solved by putting fences under it or just by sneaking.
Thirdly the leaderboards will get voided if at any time you play on creative of enable host options on that map.
OK thanks for the info, I will make it a lot smaller then. There are fences up around it too, so I already have that covered.
As far as picking up the eggs counting, I know that works, but I seem to not get credit for wheat this way, only if I punch it and then pick it up.
Not fences around it, fences under. Basically raise the whole farm.

Also you dont need to make it smaller just count out 66 blocks and put another line of pistons in. I can show you what it looks like if you need to see it.
Unfortunatly no matter how hard you work towards the leaderboards you will never be first...or even close. Hackers ruined that a long time ago for people.
