No, I don't think I did miss the point. I certainly know that Easy is not easy... dying regularly at the hands of creepers. My friend's kid, however, is also a 7 year old who can play very maturely - can manage his hunger bar, can design terrific builds (has a great eye for balance and blending of different materials), and manages the game's resources very well. He has also learned how to do some basic map reading and orienteering (something he didn't know before). He also looks after the weaker players (like me) and he's even been learning to share his "stuff" bettter than when the game first came out. The even younger one is also learning a lot in this direction and even recently noticed that my hunger bar was getting seriously depleted and game me some food to save my life. Yes, this family is video game savvy (their father being an avid gamer); but I like to think it has been the time that me and his parents have spent actively teaching them how to play a game with other people well that is making the big difference. Little kids come in all levels of game playing ability... and so do teens... and so do adults... and so do seniors. Age is not really the determining factor.
Cant wait for your ellergy on a 2 year old.... I bet they can discuss why you believe that age doesnt matter..... Its not the age that matters obviously you need to sit down with your 7 year old and get them to explain what I was saying.
Easy, peaceful feels like cheating but I don't really want to get frustrated with anything. Never really tried it on harder modes, if creepers are easier on hard mode then I might switch to that, I never have problems with anything else.

actually creepers are about the same, they just do more damage to you if you are within their blast radius...>< I find less and less difference between the modes beyond what they do to health. *sigh*
Would be nice if they made easy actually easy and hard actually hard. adding more handicaps for easy while adding more difficulty to hard mode. Like the food bar for instance they could make is so easy is 8 hunger needed to heal and on hard you would have to pretty much have a full bar to heal. Something along those lines. If not other things done to how many mobs spawn and such. There are a lot of things that could be adjusted by difficultly. Enderman can be another thing as well, having them not pick up so many things in easy, like not picking up dirt, and for hard have close to the original release where they picked up quite a bit. So more or less the list goes on for that.
As it is now there really is not much difference between the easy/normal/hard modes... major difference between peaceful/creative and those 3. but not between those 3. Maybe in the future things will change..:D
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Ahh, I misunderstood then. It seemed like if creepers only blew up within one block on hard and two blocks on easy that would fix a lot of my problems, since if they do blow up I am usually dead anyways, so how strong the blast is wouldn't matter. That's what I get for not wearing armor I guess
The thing I dont get is easy that has 6 creepers spawn at once. No way is that easy. Easy should be the 10 year olds can play with mobs without checking the mobs creeping up behind them.

You did clearly originally imply that 10-year-olds should be able to play without having to check for the mobs creeping up behind them. My original post was intended to merely point out that there are many kids younger than 10 you find it quite easy to handle the mobs in the game and have no problems at all with checking for mobs creeping up behind them. It's not age that is the singular factor that determines the skill level, so why then set a difficulty standard based on an age? Why mention an age at all? Rather, why not just say that easy should mean that creepers are programmed not to sneak up behind the player and hard means they would be programmed so they could?
Rather than repeatedly insulting me, perhaps you should sit down with my 7-year-old (who is actually my friend's 7-year-old) and have him explain to you what I've been saying.

Already enough of a challenge as it is, why worry about having it on normal and dieing more often then I am now.
