Has this been done? I apologize for being new and making two threads so consecutively, but was just thinking it'd be convenient to farm Zombie Pigmen since pigs are so hard to come by in the new update. Thanks!
It has probably been done, but why not do it anyways? It would be a great source of food. Only thing is you would need a trap that will catch passive mobs. Which isn't difficult, but idk about pigmen attitude, will they go near water? Or will water just disappear in the nether as you poor it? But I would mos def do it if it's managable for you

"Or will water disappear as your pour it" "But I would most definitely do it . . ." Had to fix it. :L
Anyways, water does disappear in the Nether as you pour it, most likely caused by all of the lava that is in that place that water is just evaporated immediatly. I honestly don't know if this has been attempted before by anyone, it could be possible though only because anything is possible if you set your mind to it. My idea for this would be to make a pit for the mobs to fall in (or you can lead them to it) and you shoot them with arrows. That is just my idea, I guess I could attempt at making one later and tell you about it.
Ah, no fun if it is done tomorrow! But, this challenge shall be completed tomorrow and you will tell us about how you feel after accomplishing this goal. If it is not completed, you shall . . . . Jump off a Minecraft Cliff . . . . repeatedly . . . . .
You need to cover everything within 128 blocks of you with half blocks to stop pigmen from spawning outside the trap. Then make tons of spawning pads with signs on the sides so they drop off.
And with all that I've never seen one 'consistantly' produce mobs.

Ignore the Gold Nugget part, but it does make a great Mob Trapper!
Well damn, Ninja'd to the fullest. I love xisuma's videos, have helped me out a lot. Especially his stackable wheat, melon and pumpkin farms.
Back on topic: A simple spawn trap made that will continuously push the mobs off the spawning pads would work since you can not use water. This same method is used for the endermen spawners in the End on the PC.

To answer all further questions about me, I am a Grammar Nazi.
To be honest, I died a little after reading that post.
Good enough for me
By the way, just for my personal sanity:
Sounds like a challenge.
Challenge accepted?
Yes. Tomorrow!
