At first both creative mode and sprinting were somewhat difficult for me, but I've gotten used to them. In fact, whenever I need to sprint in other games I always try double tapping first, before I realize the correct controls. Fifa is now a big problem for me...

lol even i have problems with halo reach. when i sprint, i foward my thumbstick twice.
I have occasional issues with sprinting, but not often. The only trouble I have with creative controls is sometimes I'll quickly tap A to go up more slowly, and... you get the picture. I've started using the D-pad more though, so it hasn't been much of a problem. I love how the movement sticks on an axis, making repetitive building a lot easier. I also love how you can place blocks more quickly, the faster you're moving.
(Hint: Hold the stick and D-pad in the same direction to strafe faster. This makes placing a line of blocks against a wall much quicker.)
(Hint: Hold A and up on the D-pad to erect a sky high pillar in a matter of seconds.)
(Hint: Holding A while sprint-flying will have you traveling at the speed of SuperJesus!)
I like the creative controls just fine. I'm still having trouble with the sprinting, usually requiring several tries to get it going. I also believe the double tap action is rather wearing on the left stick and may shorten the life of the controller overall.
I don't mind the controls at all, but there is one thing that gets to me.
When you're flying normally, you stay at the same height no matter which direction you're viewing.
However, if you're sprint flying, you (quickly!) go in the direction you're viewing (even up or down).
I don't care which way they do it, but they need to be alike.
Everything is simple about it. I was very skeptical as most people were when they announced how you sprint. However, it's not much of a problem anymore. Same with flying.

When people are sprint-flying, it's for the purpose of travel. In which case, it only makes sense that you fly in the direction you're aiming. Although, the default would be nice for breaking a line of blocks more quickly when I mess up. Overall, I prefer the way sprint-flying operates currently.
Now, if normal flying was changed, that would totally break my balls. The whole point of this is to make building easier, which is the purpose of creative mode.
Bonus Question: Is the sprinting hard?
