You should make a yellow brick road, or something like it, that leads to "something awesome" and have people try to ambush people along the road, or try and take the road.

Depending on how big your map is, frozen lake, forest, waterfalls that lead to hidden chests, & small housing complex that is rigged with pressure plates & tnt, landmines, dispenser traps... the possibilities are endless.
