Is the limit 3, because I made a fourth. (One creative, one survival, one superflat, and the new one) and mysteriously the survival one got deleted. Any idea how?
To the best of my knowledge, there is no limit on the number of worlds you can have saved on your hard drive at one time. I have had as many as 11 saved at one time. On average, they require about 17 to 18 MB of space each on the hard drive.
There is a renaming glitch being reported with the 1.8.2 update where worlds other than the one being renamed appear to be deleted or overwritten.
I may actually be one of the nice few that is able to rename a world without this happening... But is it the way I go about it that makes it so...O_o
I usually make sure to save the world in the new system and then save/exit and go about renaming then... Don't know if makes a difference but that might be the reason I don't get it. No absolute guarantee though this will work. But works for me..:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

I've also successfully renamed a world. And I even did it after hearing about the glitch, and before making a backup. 'Cause I like LIVING ON THE EDGE!!!
