People need instant recognition for their creations so they start new threads here for them. Everyone wants that "look what I made!" instant gratification and they fear of getting lost in the shuffle in that thread.
We also just recently added a shiny new sub-forum for the purposes of showing off XBox creations so a thread doesn't really make as much sense any more.

Don't know about anyone else but, one; I am busy building. Two; I finally get around to finishing AC: Revelations before last night. Three busy with AC III.
In theory then, all those "look at my.." threads should be moved over there.
It doesn't help that every little trollop has to start a new thread exactly like an existing one that ironically has exactly what they're asking for.
It's also a factor that it is a bit of a PITA to get a screenshot off the xbox over to a host server so it can be linked here.
I've been working on my Space world, which has a ST:DS9 Runabout, the International Space Station and a Space Shuttle to 1:1 scale on it. I can build, or I can post pics.
Actually for me it was the site itself that was timing out. All morning...><
I figured it had to be something up...>.>
Maybe I just have extremely uncanny timing. I remember I was messing around on the interwebz, refreshing the MCXBLA section every 5 - 10 minutes. Then, I decided to go to the homepage, which worked, and a couple minutes later the 360 section was up.
Just bad timing i guess. I was hoping to get some good ideas for my build cause I've never built anything as big before.
It's like my topic died before it got any attention. No inspiration for me

People who complain about this have obviously never posted a screenshot from a PC game on any forum.
Taking a screenshot of a PC game:
Press the "prt scrn" key.
Paste into an image manipulation program.
Save image.
Upload shot to an image hosting service.
Copy image location.
Paste, with correct tags, into forum post.
Taking a screenshot in MCXBLA:
Enter the pause menu and press "Y"
Follow prompt to take a screenshot and upload to an image host at the exact same time.
Copy image location.
Paste into forum post, using correct tags.
People are insanely lazy these days...
That's not correct per my understanding of the xbox and image hosting. The MC260 posts the image to FaceBook. I then have to switch to my PC and load up FB and download the image. Then I have to upload the image to an independentimage host site. Only then do I have a URL that's worthy of posting in a thread.
It's potentially possible to open up the viewing rights on FB images, but frankly, that draws too much attention. I do not like the internet to know who I am or to come to my house. And you don't get a choice in MC360 to post it anywhere but FB.
It comes back to, not worth the effort. Or you could look at it as I don't crave the attention of others to look at my creations.
If it was one step shopping (like taking pics on my iPhone that post to my FB), that'd be fine. But FB is not for anonymous global broadcasting.

That is a site made for specifically for hosting Minceraft Xbox 360 Edition photos. You just link it to your Facebook and when you log in on the site, it imports the pictures from your Facebook to the site. Done.
Depends on how you look at it..Actually now there is a forum that is full of nothing but inspiration
True, at the same time it's the wrong kind of inspiration for me. It's always nice to know if what I'm building look's good to others or just me.
Like you said though, Depends how you look at it!

That might be true for the 260, but, for the 360, Nose_Job_For_A_Cowboy posted the simplest way to do it. You do not need to use an image hosting site; rather, you can simply right click on the image on facebook and click "copy image location." Then all you have to do is type up the bbcode and paste.
Mcxphotos is an unnecessary, unhelpful nuisance, in my opinion.

Well, I'm just not all that paranoid, though I understand why you have your reasons. I personally don't care if anyone knows that my name is Jaime Gray. So, I'd rather do it the easy way and simply copy the image from Facebook.
Besides, if someone really wanted to, they could just reverse image search your screenshot and trace it back to your Facebook. If someone is significant enough to be a threat, it doesn't matter what precautions you take. It's not that hard to gather information on someone. As long as you're not homeless or living off the grid, you're not that hard to find.
You take a screenshot of Minecraft on the PC using F2. Most other games have similar functionality. So step 1 to 3 are missed out. Even DOSbox has inbuilt functionality to grab screenies. I'm guessing by your own admittance then, you've never posted a screenie from a PC game on to any forum...
As for taking a screenshot in XBLA... it has to go to facebook first. There is no two ways about this. Then if you don't want to make that facebook album public, you have to copy the images onto another hosting site. But you know this.
I run Linux Mint 13... Does that tell you how "1337" of a PC gamer I am? xD
I've only posted screenshots from a PC game a couple of times. And that was for Spiral Knights, which doesn't have any built-in capture features. (that I know of) It easily took longer than taking a screenshot on MCXBLA. Besides, even with a built-in screencap, that's only removing a couple steps, making it roughly even to the 360 method.
As for the public album crap, refer to the reply to Janx. Unless you're just worried about your FB friends thinking you're a nerd. In that case, it would still be faster in the long run to open a new Facebook account and link it to your copy of MCXBLA.

That isn't how it works on my XBox. I have to take a pic of the screen using a camera, or feed the video into a capture card. So maybe it's you that's insane?
Unless that's a Facebook app, I really don't like the sound of it. I know a thing or two about computer security and it sounds like a recipe for disaster.
It's a site that connects with Facebook. It was made by Citricsquid, one of the forum admins.

That is how it works if you want an actual screenshot. Link your Xbox 360 to Facebook and boom, you can upload screenshots directly from the game.

It Makes posting my world to get some advice/ ideas/ or inspiration kinda pointless!
Anyone agree?

Retired StaffOhhhhh, that explains why the MCXBLA section was timing out.
Pretty much. No matter how popular a thread is, it eventually loses relevance and falls into obscurity.
