For those who want more pumpkin seeds since you can craft them there's hope now. You need at least one seed to start, plant it make sure the stem is fully grown, then break it it will drop 0-3 more seeds. Thats like 3 for 1 I hope this helps

I havent found any seeds yet. I'm just living off bread and the occasional pork chop.
I need more fruit in my diet as I'm definitely not getting my 5 a day.

I found around 8 natural pumpkins.. should´ve taken a picture tough

Thanks for that. I was afraid to go hacking through my meager pumpkin patch to find out. But I noticed basically the same thing when I occasionally hit one by accident.

Or.....creative mode.....

In the 1.8.2 bug patch, they're adding in the ability to craft seeds from full pumpkins...

You can't eat pumpkins though can you? Only good for Jack-o-lanterns? Or have I missed something?

We will be able to eat pumpkin pie in 1.4. This is the current PC version. We will probably hit 1.4 somewhere around Next Summer.

I was gonna ask about that. i found a good patch of pumpkins but couldn't find a way to get seeds from them. I guess I have to explore more?

mineshafts look for chests becareful of spiders.... That is the only way to get the seeds until the patch comes in.:D

I hate spiders... *sigh* Thanks, though! I wanted to make a pumpkin farm and was so happy to find a patch of 8 pumpkins, then was quickly saddened when I couldn't find a way to get seeds. Odd they'd be chillin' in some chest in some dank mineshaft, though. Ah well.

Found a patch of pumpkins growing wild, not sure if they had stalks tho. Cave spiders in mineshafts poison you so be careful when looking.

Or just go to creative.

If you go to creative than your survival map will forever be tainted with the "This map was previously created in creative mode, are you sure you want to continue?"

Also, since you go in creative to give yourself something, why not give yourself...everything?

I decided to restart my map because of this. I had no sheep so I gave myself 10 64 wool blocks, then I Thought, well, why not give myself seeds...and then TNT...

So I have a new map now, not touched in creative, loving it, and even more so now that I have found a SPIDER SPAWNER which will give me endless string, which will give me wool blocks (slowly but surely).

I can not for the many lives of my minecraft guy find any damn mineshafts though! noooooo

That is definately true. I started with one seed in my farm and now I have ten plants. I definately advise saving before you try this though, in case it drops zero seeds.
