I'm looking for a block that looks great with red brick. I currently have a house made out of stone brick and red brick, but I can't stop thinking what block would look better instead of stone brick. At first I used clay but want something different.
Thanks for any suggestions!
I usually end up using the red brick as kind of a base foundation that just goes around the bottom and put cobble, wood, planks, or some other kind of stone on top of that. Never really made a house of it as I am not fond of the bright red it has. However mixing it up depth and playing with the shadows might make a feasible look to it.

council estates? O_o hmm.. will have to look that up...
Where i see it used is actually the way I use it mostly as kinda of a bottom decorative manor like a half wall of sorts at the base of the building with another type of material above that. I have seen brick full build but usually that have various wood and other colors put along side it too....
Oh yeah did someone mention color wool? maybe that might blend well too, just keep it away from fire. I don't remember if that is flammable yet.

I would say either white, pink, red(although red would make it almost look like a fire station><). Brown might work too but the brown we have is a chocolate brown and not tan. so maybe even orange/brown mix or yellow/brown mix. Of course I don't know how that would be accomplish to blend the colors together well in minecraft, still working with that myself in my own middle ages style builds...
really any color could go with it depending if you want to lighten the structure or darken it. Even make it pastel like although not advisable in certain instances..... I would suggest mix match and take a look with all the colors to see what might look appeal to the eye without giving too much attention to the color used away from the brick, and on that same note not make the brick over powering or too prominent over the color used. I guess what ever blends well to make the build look like a building and not be too distracting as an eye sore. Which is trial and error i suppose...lol

I like logs, m'self, and planks look all right. I don't like to use a lot of brick because the colour is rather intense, so it's mostly a decorative element. When I'm not sure what will look good, I fire up a creative world and just put blocks together to see how they look.
Council house = state built house owned by the state rented by the person.
Council = local government
Most houses in the UK are red brick, posher ones have render (white/cream/pink plaster). There was a phase back in the day to put stone cladding (coblestones) with it. Can use pebble dashing (probably gravel best fits this).
Thanks for any suggestions!
