I was playing with my brother when my Xbox froze, but that is due to it's an OLD xbox with many many hours of playing an MMO on it. Otherwise, my xbox doesn't freeze when I play single player or online with other friends that aren't connected to the same router as myself.
Lag has to do with the connectivity between the host user and connecting user, not anything else.
People here tend to refer to any drop in framerate as lag. Hell, I've been known to do it at times.
None of my worlds have crashed since the update. I've only played on my old worlds for a total of maybe an hour though. But, I've dumped around 20 hours into a new creative world with no problems.
I deleted my cache and created a new world. It froze almost immediately.
I power cycled and it didn't freeze again, but loaded ridiculously slowly as I explored the first time. I exited after uncovering a short strip down the middle.
I re-installed the updates and opened the map. No freeze or slowdown. (But the terrain was, um, yeah ) Let me run aound and explore the whole map in Creative with not even a stutter.
The world I started in Survival right after 1.8 has been rock-solid. Quite honestly I was surprised at how much better the game runs now compared to the release version (1.6.6? ).
My two worlds from pre-1.8 work fine. One is 1.7? After the June update. The other is from the original release, updated fully explored after the June update, and again with 1.8. I've not tried to rename them.
Overall, I'm really happy with the update.
I sympathize if there is something about your main map that causes the game to freeze. In my case the update motivated me to start a new map anyway. Would suck to lose something.
my game freezes everytime I load it online but offline it works fine. Sometime if I save offline it will work online again but the next time I have to go offline and save before going back online. All of this has been since the update:(
I have had more frequent bouts of lag since the update (blocks reappearing after mining, etc.); however, I have only had 1 complete freeze of the XBox since the update. That was in a newly created post-update world. I have, however, been avoiding going into my main pre-update build world until after the bug fix comes out... in the hopes that I will not have to go through the hassle of updating all the black chests and/or removing all my old signs.
