Yes, I would agree that there seem to be more lag issues than there were before the update. I was experiencing some lag (i.e. blocks reappearing after mining them) before the update; but now I'm experiencing that even more frequently, along with seeing flickering while mining and moving about more frequently and my Steve's motions momentarily freezing. I'm even getting things like X-Ray vision while flying over seeds, especially while sprint flying. These issues are all occurring in newly generated worlds while playing as a single player offline (XBox not even connected to the internet at all). Therefore, the internet connection obviously has nothing to do with the lag I'm experiencing.
In the splitscreen modes, the lag is even more noticeable; and the lag in 4-player splitscreen is almost making the game unplayable. It noticeably improves when one of the 4 players leaves the game. We were playing only offline (i.e. online toggle set to off), although their XBox has a viable internet connection.
Since the update, I had one freeze that cost me about an hour of work (dismaying, as this game never froze on me before, ever), and I noticed last night, while laying a cobblestone roof, that if I place the cobblestones while facing the connection point from a 45 degree angle, the game lags for about a second before placing the block. Facing the connection point head on creates no problems, though.
I've only seen lag in splitscreen really. It did it once on solo, so I exited and re-opened the world and it worked fine. It has only been lagging for me since the update. No problems before.
Last night i got some serious lag while building, sometimes to the point of freezing for a few seconds when I was placing blocks(new world not a whole lot has been changed on the map as I am currently working on my main base). What all can be a cause of lag? I do have the old Xbox 360 Elite as I don't feel the need to buy a new console until the nextbox comes out hopefully next year.
My biggest lag issue is with pistons mainly. Since the addition of creative mode, I have been playing with redstone a lot more and learning/building some in depth stuff. My most recent builds have been elevators. The big problem with them is that the pistons when they move, they glitch/lag the block they are moving (Especially sticky pistons). This causes things like elevators to not work because you then get stuck in the blocks trying to push you up. The only successful one I've made is a SLOW spiral. The zipper and rising piston ones will not work.
This is NOT caused by my internet connection. I have a really fast and solid (directly connected) internet connection. I have also been playing and noticing these thing more in offline single player mode.
I noticed some lag when placing half slab wooden planks sometimes. and I have had it freeze once. I did not experince any of these before the patch, but I am still very happy with the update. I just wish I had more sheep around.
Yeah. Placing Glowstone before for my game has never lagged me, but now it causes EXTREMELY noticeable lag. In addition, opening the creative menu in multi and getting new blocks from it causes a second long delay on everyone else in the game.
I don't think it is the update that is causing the lag. The only problem I've been having when joining other people's games is that the map doesn't fully load all the time, and I am needing to wait for it to load.
This has been my problem as well but I am also referring to this as lag.
I seem to have lag in certain areas of maps. On my survival map if I am down in my diamond mine by the edge of the map I have no lag in my mining or motion, but my stamina does not go down. Up on the surface a little farther in on the map I have lag in my mining, placing and movement and my stamina goes down normally.
Something has definitely changed with the way the game does lighting updates on blocks, particularly when sunlight/moonlight is involved, I now get massive amounts of lag (not playing online) when altering the lighting, sometimes to the point where the game takes about 4 seconds to process the placing of just one block. It has also caused my game to crash a couple of times which is annoying but minor since I have autosave set to 15 minutes.

No offense, but this is why I set my auto-save to every 15 minutes. You never know what will happen, and if you don't have auto save on at all, you're playing a very risky game for not much reward.

I need to give out more reputation. I'm not used to the system, but I see so many helpful posts. D: Sorry if I forget you!

He's asking if anyone had lag after the update. Just because you don't does not mean that nobody has.
OMG 4H Y U COZ LAGG??
