I've googled this for an hour and I am surprised I didn't find anything. I downloaded the demo (trial) on my Xbox 360 and when I press start to join a second player on local multiplayer, everything looks fine but when the second player attempts to mine using right trigger, nothing happens. The hand keeps wacking away at whatever the focus is on but it never "breaks down". Meanwhile, the original player can mine using this method just fine.
I am not an expert minecrafter so if I am missing something fundamental I would appreciate if someone could educate me.
I've attempted rebooting the console and redownloading the game. Is it perhaps a limitation on the demo?
What a great forum community! So refreshing! BTW, my kids and I are hooked. It's great fun when the monsters come out and everybody starts screaming and laughing! We happen to be playing on the Xbox 360. Are we missing out by not playing on the PC? We usually play 4 player split screen on the Xbox.

It's great that your family is able to come together and spend some quality time mining it up on the XBox. Don't feel that you're missing out by not playing on the PC. XBox's version will be there eventually. The main benefit you're getting by having the XBox version is the 4 player split-screen. If I'm not mistaken you would have to purchase 4 licenses to all play at once on the PC, and of course 1 PC per person.

You should consider hanging around the forum. I'm sure you and your children will be addicted to this game in no time.
