I really want my friends seed, it's got a good layout and fair amount of villages. He says he can't read the seed on his TV, so is there anyway I can view the seed?
If he can't read the seed on the TV, the only other option is file extraction.
Have him copy his gamesave onto a flash drive.
Insert flash drive into a computer.
Use a USB explorer, and extract the binary file.
It will be something like 0023011.bin
Open the file using a program such as Modio.
In this window there will be several options, along with information about the file. In this area, the seed will be displayed.
Before the ToS nazis start freaking out on me, this does not involve altering the file. Simply viewing the file does not violate any rules set by Microsoft. Not that 90% of people care about it, but there are a handful of users on this forum that like to have a fit over it. They're like those "concerned citizens" that snoop around everywhere, listening to a scanner, pretending to be cops.
