Hi there, I recently made a rather large labyrinth in my world. The way to win the gamemode is to gather gold ingots from chests within the maze to make a four block high tower of gold (Tower of Pimps). I've got a fair few traps where button/pressure plates trap you in a room, dump lava on your head, shoot you with rapid fire dispenser, activate pitfall traps, etc. I've also got a few rooms with obstacles/puzzles where you can get armour, weapons and other useful items.
some of the rooms are:
a doorway selection thing where you pick one of four doors which three lead to traps.
A binary coded door
a stepping stone rooms with lava floors where the stones are operated by pistons which switch on and off
a parcour room
a glass maze
a fake wall made of silverfish stone which you are told to mine through
a teamwork room where two people are required to get through
an ice stepping stone room with a deep floor
a lava maze
and a tower which you have to climb where the blocks you climb retract into the wall
Made something similar but a 100x100x10 maze at the bottom of the map. Started in 1.6. Finished yesterday. Won't be up for play till testing is done.
What are the dimensions for yours?
Also, I have corridors that are only a block wide. So my maze by the looks is much more complicated than yours xD
Plus you have to play on: 80% gamma (easy) 50% gamma (regular) or 15% gamma (hard) and there is no light, but if you play on hard you get 2 stacks of torches because otherwise it would take years.
EDIT:
I like how yours has puzzles and such. Mines just a just labyrinth that so far from testing, (on regular mode) takes at least 2 days to complete. I just finished it for the first time on regular (easy once) and it took me 2 days rather than 8 hours with easy.
EDIT EDIT:
Have you tested yours yet? If so, what was your time?
Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
what happens if you die in an inaccessible area with some of the gold? is the maze uncompleteable? I like the idea of needing to collect gold ingots to make blocks though, it's smart . You might want to make the teamwork room optional though. Some people might get annoyed.
IDEA: make a dark maze with ice walls. Kinda like the glass/mirror mazes in fairs. Make a piston crusher to suffocate people. Make a room chock full of wolves so it's really hard to walk through, and you cant really kill them because they will own your face. Make a big room with an uneven floor and pistons pushing parts the floor up and down. Make a parkour course over a pit that shoots arrows at you 1 sec after stepping on each stone. etc etc
BEST IDEA: make a maze in a two block tall room with pistons that can pull up the top block and pull down the bottom block of some walls when you press certain buttons/levers. So the maze changes after each lever press!
also: put chests in place that are painfully obvious, but have a block above them so you cant open the chest until the block is pulled by a piston activated somewhere later in the maze
If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.
Amazing... looks like a colorful Crete (spelling?) the one in legend of the minotaur.
Looks pretty well fleshed out and i must say that would take me a while to make a maze like that with twists and turns. I am only manage to turn my cave systems into a Labyrinth of sorts. lol
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I used a few ideas in an adventure map one of which was a straight up labyrinth. Another is a branching trivia maze, where the left door is true and the right door is false. Each room has a factoid on the wall, and the player must pick true or false. Correct door leads to next room, wrong answer leads to one-way corridor which leads back to first room. Arrow pressure plates with a false plate safe path with clues to help player decide; maze of floating blocks the adds third dimension jumping/climbing to navigation; parkour with retractable blocks operated by tossing items onto pressure plates... lots of fun maze ideas to be had.

there are more than 4 blocks worth of ingots because when a block is placed on the podium it can't be removed. so if you lose blocks you can still win and the teamwork room isnt totally necesary plus also did chest thing and also obvious chests which are surrounded by traps

anyone got any ideas for more trap/rooms to add?
Got any pics?
heres a photo of it. sorry about the quality.
