I have been trying to get an elevator built, and have been using youtube to see ones that would work. I have tried a , but that just makes me fall through the pistons (and I have tried other people's versions as well, and tweaked it myself).
Then I tried a , but didn't realize that only works for 15 blocks, and I need about 50.
I really hate zipper elevators, and I wouldn't be able to put it where I want it, as I need it to be hidden on the top layer, but in the middle of a house.
So, anyone know of an elevator, preferably with a car, that works?
It looks like that one still makes a spiral staircase, which would enable people to go back down.
I need something that is one way only.
The reason that I only need it to go down is because the area is only supposed to be accessible from a hidden area.

First there is a hidden, underground area.
This area is more like a base with everything that it should have.
In one room is a button that opens up a wall for a passage.
In the next room is a 9 button 6 digit combo lock.
This opens a small hallway with one button in it.
If the button gets hit, then the hallway closes itself back off, but the floor opens.
The person then drops, and then lands in a giant "store-like" room with every item in the game (this is for when I put my world back to survival).
The "drop" that the person goes through would have them pass through water blocks so that they take no damage as that would slow them down.
But, I need a way back up, and so I want to use an elevator to go up, but only one way.
I already have everything else done, but this elevator as the 360 version's pistons behave differently than on PC.

I know you said you didn't like zipper elevators, but i think that would be the best option. Once i get my main base finished, i will be doing a sort of "Man Cave" and will be implementing one into my world
