I have been trying to play my main world ever since 1.8.2, but it always freezes, even in offline mode. Any way to get around this until the bug is fixed? Thanks.
Edit: People keep telling me to 'go on your world and do *This*'. I can't go on my world, at all!
Just looking at a bunch of trees won't help. The rest will though!
Let me be more specific.. LOLZ, If you have, like I did when my world would crash, large amounts of saplings under trees and not growing get rid of them. I had to burn down a rather large forest area that a friend of mine planted trying to make a "slender" forest before the update. After that.. All was good with the stuff I did above as well. But it took a lot of time but I did not lose my original world.
Have you ever saved the world in creative? If you have, and you're not afraid to, open up the world in creative and try to delete anything that might cause lag, like large amounts of redstone, redstone clocks, or entities not despawning right.

I haven't even been able to play it in creative. I haven't been able to load the world in any way after the update.

Try my way it doesn't require going on your world all you have to do is delete minecraft(wont effect your worlds) restart xbox then redownload it.
You said you tried your HDD and your USB to load the world, was the copy of your world on USB saved to the USB stick before the save game originally froze when loading from your HDD? Or did the game file freeze on your hard drive before you copied the save file to your USB?
Do you have any older back-ups of your save file on USB that you could load and just build all the new stuff you had done since then over again?
Sorry this has happened to you

It was originally on my USB and that's where it stopped working. I moved it after it started freezing. I have an older backup, but it's really old.

1- ret all the chests that have "shadows" around them
2- Remove any and all signs. Then when they are all gone reset those.
3- Look at the size of your, if you have any, tree farms.
4- Turn off any automatic farms and the save and exit. The come back in.
Hopefully that will help. And do it "on-line"
Thanks though.
