I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced mobs pushing through doors. The only reason I was concerned, was because in my experience it was a hostile mob and not a passive mob that pushed through the door.
Basically, I went into my friends house and I turned around to see that a creeper had followed me to the door. Now I don't know how it happened, but all of a sudden he glitched through the door and blew up inside the house. It wasn't a huge deal, we just loaded the game back up, but it still was of annoyance. It was a wooden door and of course it was closed.
So basically, has this happened to anyone else, and if so, do you know of the cause?
Not through a door but a couple of times over a fence. I have a shooting gallery setup and the mobs seem to be able to jump over the fences by jumping on top of each other. was there another mob behind the creeper or was it by itself?
Thinking about it more, it was probably lag. You said you were at a friend's house; was this on your world or his? If you were multiplayer on his server, it's possible that your client saw the door as closed and the creeper outside until the server caught up with you and said, "oops, no that creeper was moving abit faster than you thought and is now inside - POOF!"
I think you left the door open or it spawned in the house(no lights?) in the pc, zombies can break WOODEN doors, but only zombies... and that was not included in 1.8.2 on xbox for what i know (could be wrong, but i really doubt it) so, the most certain theory is that you didn't notice the creeper while passing by... it wouldn't be strange, thats why they're called creepers
It couldn't have spawned while he was in the house, he would've been to close for it to spawn, and Zombies breaking doors weren't added until 1.2 official release. Possible reason for this occurance, could be lag, forgot to close door (but you said you did) or it glitched through

I'm not 100% sure if there was another mob behind the creeper, there could have been. Even if there were and that's what caused it, then that would be something I'd hope they'd fix. But no one else seems to have had it happen to them.

Ah, I specifically mentioned that the door was closed. I even made sure I mentioned that just in case someone asked the obvious question "Was the door open?" I did mention that it was closed and still I am asked if the door was opened! And yeah I'm 100% it did not spawn inside; I literally watched it come inside through the closed door from outside.

It definitely could have been / probably was from lag. But not under the circumstances you mentioned because my friend was not near me. It was his world, but my friend was off mining or something. The door was definitely closed for me, but like you said, it could have just been the server catching up. If it makes a difference I can remember the creeper blinking red while he was going through the door, which I'm pretty sure means he was getting injured. Probably only happened 'cause he was lagging through the door
Was there pressure plate in front of door? If not im going with lag to...maybe he was following so close when you closed door he got squashed and lagged through? (happened in my piston door setup...i was being chased by one)
Yeah, there was not a pressure plate in front of the door, so yeah I think I'm concluding that it was in fact lag. Thanks for the feedback everyone, I'm going to be looking out to see if it happens again.
