Ok so i played for a couple hours then saved. Then played for a few more hours and exited and saved (I AM COMPLETELY SURE I SAVED WHEN I LEFT). Got on this afternoon and I was at point from where I first saved, not when I exited and saved.
This really grinds my gears because hours of hard work just went down the drain. Anybody know of how to fix this cause I am 100% positive i saved when I got off last night.
well its either you didnt save or you didnt save my suggestion though is never just select exit and save always save manually and then exit and save that way u can garentee it saved
It's easy to get confused on the save confirmation screen and wind up cancelling your save rather than OK'ing it.
Well the only logical thing I can think of is that I shut off my xbox while it was saving and I thought it was done. Ugh, well you learn from your mistakes.

That's also a possibility; but I think that doing that is more likely to corrupt the file than just not save it. It probably depends at what point in the save it was when the XBox was turned off. However, the "Cancel" on the save screen is on top of the "OK," which means you have to move the right stick down to select the OK option. This makes it quite possible to just wind up cancelling the save before it starts, particularly if you're tired and in a hurry. A way to make sure is to wait a bit to make sure the progress bar comes up. It will say "preparing chunks" and then "finalizing." The little chest in the upper corner (which just indicates the saving of the stats)will also appear on and off more than once before the save is completely done. Another option is to use the autosave feature (although I myself prefer not to). I do save manually every 15 minutes or so and never go for hours without saving.
There was a bug in the 1.7.3 version where the player data (i.e. inventory) was not saving and the player was returned to the original spawn point. In those cases, however, whatever they had built was saved. If the "inventory bug" is what hit you, 4J will be very disappointed that it's still lurking about since they tweeted a couple of weeks ago that they thought they had finally figured it out and were fixing it in the 1.8.2 update.
