So like most of you, i started a new world when 1.8.2 came out and i have been working allot on my base. Basically it's going to be a giant circle in the ground, almost like a "bowl." Part of it overlapped into ocean so i have been clearing that out, after i finish that i will begin digging out the bowl, and then work on a mob spawner, slime farm, you know all that noise. I want to hear your suggestions of things i should add once i finish digging it out. One thing that continues to stump me is the material i should use for the walls. I have thought about doing it all stone bricks except for the top row which i would do in sandstone, but i don't know yet. Keep in mind that i'm doing this all in survival.

Stone bricks are definitely a nice design, I wouldn't really know what else to suggest other than bricks and wooden planks. Obviously wool is an option but I doubt you would want to gather all the supplies for that.
And man, there is just so much potential with something like this. Are you going to close it off like a dome, or make it more like a tower and have it go inwards and skinnier as it goes up?
Either or it's a cool idea and I'm sure it will turn out awesome.

You should have a chicken farm in the sky, and have it drop eggs in the middle. have a fountain in the middle also

Ah okay I see. Yeah it's always nice to have a build inspired by something, especially when, like you said, you can add in things to make it your own. And yeah, definitely, whether you update this thread or begin a new one, I would like to see the finished result.
