I was just wondering what the largest Abandoned Mineshaft you've ever explored was. I ask this because I just finished exploring an insanely large mineshaft system. I have to believe it was 4 or 5 connected mineshafts.
To give you an idea of the size since I haven't taken screenshots yet, here's some numbers:
- Hours needed to explore (although I'm sure I missed some parts): 7+
[[This was on Peaceful, so I figure it would take somewhere around 10+ hours if you had to deal with mobs. Quite the epic adventure.]]
- Approximate amount of land covered: 12-15% of the map
- Maximum height: 5 levels (some parts had up to 5 mineshaft paths layered above each other)
- Total Cave Spider Spawners: 20
- Total Chests(so far): 21
- Connected Dungeons: 2
That was just from the chests. Through very limited mining, but mostly due to exposed ore, I collected at least 2 stacks(128 pieces) of Gold and at least 1 stack(64 pieces) of Diamond. Between open caves (that i didn't go very far into)and Ravines that I passed through(including a triple ravine), i collected over a stack of Obsidian. I also collected a ton of Redstone, Lapis Lazuli, Iron and Coal. I believe I had a few stacks of each.
Also, the dungeons had 2 Saddles, 2 Cocoa Beans, a Bucket and a few other items.
So what's the largest Abandoned Mineshaft you've explored on MCXBLA?

Wow. Have you finished going through it, or are there still parts you need to explore?
I haven't been through any big ones. I remembers finding one that went three layers down. It was connected to a ravine below water. The one thing I remember most about it was there was a 1 block thick wall. One side had a dungeon with the Zombie Spawner. The other side had a Cave Spider Spawner, and behind me was an Enderman. I had gathered 5 diamonds when I found the area. I knew that was my luck at work.

I'm pretty sure that I've explored the farthest it goes in each direction. I can almost guarantee I missed some pathways in there somewhere. I'm going to get back in it later today and try to find what I missed. If I find anything of interest(Spawners, chests, etc), I'll update my original post
I know what you mean by the size. I've been through a lot of mineshafts since the update and they're all about the same size, with a few being a bit smaller or a bit larger.. But I've never been in a mineshaft that was even half this size, so I'm thinking this is probably just a bit of rare and fortunate structure generation.
The really amazing part is that this mineshaft connects 3 villages underground. I just have to tunnel up to the third.
Also, the village in the middle has a stronghold next to it, along with a underground dungeon a few steps away in the opposite direction of the village. Somehow, this map managed to spawn every structure around the same village including this massive mineshaft.
I haven't found any mineshafts yet, but I've found the biggest caves I've ever seen on 360. They go on forever. I got lost in one last night, kept going around in circles. I finally gave up and dug up to get to surface. Gotta learn to do my torches on one side going in. Put down redstone on the first cave like that so I could find my way out.
I will be putting a video together soon showcasing the seed. I just have a bit more exploring to do. I know for a fact that I have at least 3 more mineshafts to explore as well as a number of large cave systems.
This really is an amazing seed. It also has 5 full villages, at least 1 surface dungeon and a nice mix of biomes. It has some nice mountains as well, although I would of liked a bit bigger mountain biome. But that's the only small complaint I've had so far. And it really is a minor one. Besides that, I'm enjoying every minute of exploring it.
I have found a 3 - 4 layered mineshaft that extends about 10ish% into the map , atleast what I have explored.
Although I stopped exploring the mineshaft when a part of it branched off into a seemingly endless enourmous cave .
On a random side note I have found about 7 or 8 saddles in chests , what am I going to do with all these saddles lol.
I have the same situation with saddles. I've found about 10 dungeons so far and I already have at least 5 saddles. I think I'm going to put some pigs in a fenced-in farm, grab some friends and have pig races, lol.
Found a giant one too. Much cooler than I first anticipated. must be four or five layers and connected to the vault we built :).
I was thinking of doing something similar. Since this mineshaft covers so much ground, I'm thinking of creating an underground city and have the mineshaft act as the sidewalks, connecting the different districts and such.

I think I really hit the jackpot with this seed.
