Step 1: Get your seed number
Step 2: Start a new world using said seed number and enter creative.
Step 3: Start playing with TnT and enjoy! I went around in a grid about every 100 blocks, dug to bedrock and filled the hole with TnT. If you have a stronghold it should only take you an hour or so to find it. Much less then scouring the forums for an answer that isn't here.

Get a pad and paper ready as you will want to write down the co-ords of the abandoned mineshafts and spawners you are sure to find.

P.S. The X-ray machine doesn't work well for finding strongholds

Or you can use this seed: "Project" and use this video to find a stronghold. I would like to estimate that in superflat with structures turned on you can find POSSIBLE locations when you find a village. In regular mode/creative mode and terrain on, you may find a village or a stronghold at that location. Or maybe just an abandoned mineshaft.

Your idea will work, and for the most part is fun.

Ya know, mine spawned in the middle of my map, under a lake. I have seen many pics and I am unable to make a connection between strongholds and any terrain/structure feature. I guess if people are desperate I can give them my seed and the co-ords to dig down, but i figured they wanted to find it in their own maps.

If you really want to find your stronghold, just search on youtube the xray glitch

The stronghold we found was not on accident. I hosted a room in creative like this user mentioned. We did it differently though. My buddy Rockytop10acee flew over the top of the map with Flint & Steel and lit every tree he could on fire with spread turned on. Fire in the current release causes intense lag and he saw the stronghold from above flying at high altitude.

Ooooo, I like that idea. Very clever, and sounds like it would be faster than mine if you have a friend.

I just tested this on my wife's xbox in my room with creative mode and after about 5 minutes or so I found a stronghold in a brand new seed. Video coming soon!

I got annoyed and tried the X-Ray on a different world just to see if I could spot a Stronghold or Abandoned Mineshaft. I couldn't find anything... It doesn't really work anymore.

Why didn't it work? When you use Xray and look underground, you can only see around a 75x75 area. You've gotta do it in several places. Strongholds are lit with torches, theyre fairly easy to spot. I saw mine right away, first shot.

Hmmm, interesting. All of the structures in my map were in the exact same spot. The villages even had the same deformations. Are you 100% sure you got the seed number right? I only ask because my recreation was spot on in every detail.

lol at this method to find your stronghold.
I thought it was going to be something a little more sophisticated than blowing your seed to bits.

I'm just spelunking. For me it will be much more satisfying when / if I find one.

strong hold is the thing with stone brik and lots off halls and doors right? i was bored with tnt in creative in a fresh world, came across 1.
