hey guys. im fairly new here. but i feel im on the same page as other crafters. and i was worried i was left behind becuz everyone has awesome creations. and im having a hard time staying on track, and trying to hold onto the idea that a enormous castle/fortress is a good idea. im currently working on a 501x350 castle on the most perfect island. so in a nut shell..... 1. i need to be let in on the secret of building massive structures. 2. need some minecraft music to build to. (i have some parodies from itunes. they are ok. but need some new stuff) 3. how do i tackle a huge structure, start small then buid off of that. do the floors and walls, and finish the tedious stuff later. as you can sense. im in the fog while everyone is slamming blocks down while im looking at the work area with a blank face.
Just keep putting blocks down. Whenever you feel like you will never finish, put more blocks down!
When I start a project, I plot the corners and the center. If you work from the center out, or from the corners in, and do to one half what you do to the other, you should have a good looking build.
For your castle, I would mark the dimensions and then build a corner of it. If you like the corner, copy it on all corners! The builds really start looking good once you finish the basic structure and can start putting on details.
Hope that makes sense.
