So I finally went and updated to 1.8.2 on my Xbox, I deleted my old worlds and I started a new one. On easy, since I was still getting used to the controls but wanted the survival experience still, I never use peaceful.
I spawned into a nice plains biome, some mountains in the distance and a desert nearby as well. Close to me was a ravine and further up? A village, jack pot. That would save me time making a home for the first couple of days and hey, a free crafting bench too! I thought I was doing good so far, I harvested the weat, planted the seeds and made me some bread, next up I went out to gather wood so I could make basic tools, and from there I went to upgrade them into stone tools.
The first night was approaching and what I still lacked was a bed still as I had not found any sheep yet. The sun was already setting, but I felt confident, I had my my stone sword, I had a couple of breads, I could do this!
I left the house I occupied, headed out the village and into the wild to brave the night. I moved to pass over a hill....but that's where things got downhill....I stumbled upon a group of three creepers, no way I could face them without one blowing up in my face, so I turned away to run the opposite end...only to directly stare towards an endermen who of course aggro'd. So now I had three creepers chasing me and an angry enderman. And whilst I was running to the nearest pool of water, skeletons were shooting arrows around me...the endermen caught up, I swung my sword at him and tried to run off....but then that hissing sound...and it was all over, I died the first night.
I have to admit....I have honestly not touched Xboxcraft again since that moment, but when I do I may well make a new world instead as I quit it when it was still night...on the original spawnpoint...without weapons or food. Bit of a typical FML moment there.
Yeah, it definately seems more difficult now. Also the mobs seem to spawn in groups now, it's never just one creeper anymore. I've been destroyed by the creeper brigade a number of times. A diamond sword is a must, now.
Yeah I noticed that too. I have noticed trio's of endermen, if I recall right from the PC version, they never flocked in groups but were usually spread around over dessert biome's
I have noticed more mobs also, i wonder if there are more hostile mobs because there are less non hostile mobs around? I once read a thread talking about mob grinder and someone was having trouble getting mobs to spawn because they had a large pack of dogs as pets. I also wonder if there is a problem with the enderman math... because i read that they were supposed to spawn 10x less then other mobs, but i have had 5-10 outside my house on the beach, and it is rare when i don't run into one while going to my mine.
I did read about the wolf issue too, they seem to also cause issues of passive mobs spawning....and apparently tall grass causes issues too with passive mobs. I wonder if these are bugs because I do not recall these issues as much in the PC version of the Adventure Update.
I don't why but it seems harder to me. I feel like they raised the mob spawn rate at night or something cause' before the update I could play on hard all day and smack creepers around now if I just play on Easy Enderman and Creepers be -slappin' me all around the place
Easy mode never was "Easy"... To me there is hardly a differance between "Normal" & "Easy" modes. They really aught to make Easy mode the way it should be... Easy... And make hard mode harder for those wanting that thrill. I have a bad habit of turning to peaceful due to hardly a difference in each setting. Sure less damage taken, blah blah blah... But the same amount of monsters still come out at night. So in essence the same difficulty all around.
Also is it just me or are there more creepers coming out in this update than before... I mean i was surrounded before, but now it is horde after horde of them...O_o When creepers start to out number the zombies and skeletons that is when I know something is up....><

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
