I was playing on super flat and I was getting so annoyed by the slimes since I was working on traps to kill/capture mobs and players and they kept getting in the way, so I turned the difficulty to peaceful. Of course they do not despawn and I have to kill all of them by me and a few more spawned, I was all like "WTF!" , I have also read that this was a problem with some pc update.

It is a problem because superflat worlds are bedrock then like 4 layers of dirt. And since slimes spawn a few block above bedrock... Do I need to explain more?
Oh and I don't know why but they are like wolves and spawn on peaceful as well.
I'd say, if you REALLY don't want slimes, make a section of land like ten blocks higher up. Not much fun, but will work
