I'm making a multiplayer map for friends. This is what I need help with. How would I get, to keep it simple, 5 dispensers stacked on top of each other to fire at the same time? I know I would need to make a 5-clock but I understand that. How do I wire the 5 vertically. 5 high and 5 horizontal.
You mean like a square 5 x 5 wall of 25 dispensers? Not sure it's possible, but I haven't messed with dispensers much. I'll go play with the idea right now. Why do you need a clock? Do you want them to fire multiple times for each press of the button?
I'm pretty sure it's impossible to wire a 5x5 wall of dispensers... You could do a 5x5 floor easily, but I don't think it's possible for you to get the current to every dispenser in a wall.

No it's not. I'm doing it right now.
I found that dispensers behave the same way as pistons do when it comes to redstone. I'll have some screenshots in a few minutes.

Hey I can help you I made it in creative. It's Not 5x5 of dispensers but it is as compact as possible to what you want.

If you'd like. I'll take you to a special place in town. A place where all your wishes come true.
^^^ There you go, it's a tileable and stackable setup to activate 4 dispensers at once.
^^^ Follow the pattern, improvise for the top line and last vertical line of dispensers.
(For the glitch to place redstone on top of a dispenser, you just have to "place" the dust on the side of a block above and beside the dispenser.)
EDIT: Slight revision. All blocks in front of repeaters need a block under them with dust on it. Also, the set up on the last line needs to be changed to this:
^^^ Sorry about the rain
Now just connect all the wires together and attach it to a button/clock/whatever!
To be fair, I was assuming there wasn't a glitch that made it possible.
It could easily been done without the glitch, in fact it would be easier and quicker. I only did it because it makes for a more compact design.
Plus, then you can show your friends and they'll be all like, "WHOOOAAAHH! How'd you put dust on top of dispensers!?" then you can be like, "Magic, b*tch. "

Touché.
I figured it would be possible without using the glitch, but I didn't know why you would have otherwise and decided not to question it. Compactness? PSHH!
