is draw distance determined by the number of blocks it has to draw?
what I'm trying to get at is I'm doing the Star Trek Enterprise NCC-1701A on a map that has a lot of huge mountains, trees, and lakes around it. I'm wondering if I tear down these mountains and trees that it would allow me to see more of the ship when I go further out. Otherwise, I'm going to have to take close up shots and do a panorama stitch so I can fit the whole ship without missing parts.
P.S. don't look at the pic too closely! it's only at 40% done here. I'm just trying to get a sense of shape and size. I haven't started shaping it or putting in details. And the lights are there only for counting blocks. They're not the actual lights of the ship.
It's a set distance and nothing can change it except the Void Fog that occurs in the bottom 16 layers of the map.
Removing blocks from an area will not let you see your build from further away. Except of course the fact that moving things out of the way will let you see it more clearly. It won't increase the actual distance from which you can see it.
