Are there loot chests in villages and abandoned mineshafts?

I can confirm that there are chests and mob spawners in the mine shifts. I haven't found any chest in the village I have on my world.

no chests in villages, they came in the 1.9 pre releases, so wait till next update

but mineshafts have chests, I've found a couple diamonds, gold, bread and melon seeds so far

I've never found a minshaft yet, or a stronghold for that matter.

Are they in already dug cave systems, or do you have to dig to find them?
